Who do you think Pike should target in the transfer portal? Realistic targets only, as we know we’re not getting starters from P6 teams unless they want to “come home” or something.
And please don’t use this thread to bash Pike’s recruiting. We have countless other threads for that. Please just discuss the potential targets.
I’ll start - CJ Wilcher. Why would he want to stay in Nebraska? There will be 30 minutes a night available here at home, where he can be reunited with his Roselle Catholic teammate Cliff Omoruyi. And have to think Hoiberg will get fired. I guess the issue here, though, is that this would be his second transfer in two years (started out at Xavier), so not sure if he would be eligible right away. Maybe the “coming home” angle gets him a waiver.
FYI, Wilcher plays 25 mpg off the bench, averaging 7.6 ppg, but he’s not the primary option. He shoots 38% from 3-pt range (34-90, so good sample size). Think he’s ready for a breakout season next year.
