one of my favorite things about this board are the post scrimmage meltdowns by fans. The easy prediction is QB stats. Instead, I'm going with poor rushing numbers and the board crying the OL coach is nothing but a Twitter hype machine. Predictions?

Defense is always ahead of the offense early in a season so it will be something on the offense for sure. Im going with QB and double dipping with that prediction if CL get the most snaps.

Agreed, most likely QBs will be the hot topic so I'll go out on a limb and say people will find a way to be upset with the number of touches receivers and tight ends get. Someone is getting too many, someone else not enough...

That or "why didn't this player participate? Is he injured? When did that happen? I thought our new s&c program was going to be better than this"

Members of this board will be put in restraints because Laviano has a good day.

Gio is going to have more combined rushing/receiving yards than the others and the call will come for him to be President of the United States

Fans should hope all the qbs do well and it becomes a tough but happy problem...... Fans also have to understand that it might wind up that Laviano could be the best combo of throwing and running. If so, trust the staff if they go that way.

Laviano will attempt one more pass than Rettig and people will say Rettig is not getting his fair shot.
Because we won't know about the two TO's he called. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

...a DL will have 2 sacks and people will declare him 'unblockable', put him down for a 15+ sack season and talk will then shift to his NFL draft prospects.

...a WR will have a nice catch or 2 and posters will talk about how he will fill in for Carroo and then some, and how our WR corps is the most underrated in the country.

Unless the coaching staff decides to release stats to the media(which I highly doubt) we'll never know what happened. They're banned as well. Anybody got a drone that can film it? Because that's probably the only way we're going to find out what exactly happened.

Then the biggest meltdown will come from the "I have the right to know" crowd. How will they ever be able to make their expert predictions on Rutgers future without knowing how many touches the 5th string RB had?

Looking to the sidelines for calls. People were apoplectic here when GS did it.

I remember those seasons under Capt. Kirk. Problem was they would line up, look to the sidelines wait for the call(which Capt. Kirk took way too long to relay), again look to the sidelines then finally snap the ball with 3 to 4 seconds left on the clock. It took brutally long to snap the ball. I think this will be an improved version. Lineup, get call, snap all within 20 to 25 seconds of the play clock. This staff seems to want to move fast.

Off-balance defense > eating clock.

I remember being told that one of the big downsides to that is that it wears out the OL

Not that it really wore them out in a physical sense but keep in mind that we still ran a very complicated blocking scheme which worked best if the OL gets to the line and gets a chance to get a good look at the defense. If you are standing at the line that long and waiting for a play and looking to the sideline, you are not looking at the defense.

...I find the grandiose, bombastic claims of greatness just as amusing as the meltdowns.

Not me Joe. I can chuckle at overly positive comments because at least we all want that to be true. I can't read the Anti HC and QB comments much longer.

So your saying people are going complain we don't have a QB. Didn't this board love the "if you got 2 qbs them you really have none quote"? That's my prediction for the meltdown
