Previous Head Coach, OC or DC - And Likely Success?

Football Outsiders did a break down on coaching experience and success as a head coach. There was no correlation between defensive or offensive coordinator experience and a higher rate of success as a head coach. Also, the correlation between previous head coaching experience and future success was so small as to be almost nonexistent.

Hiring a new coach is basically a crapshoot."
