I enjoy having a weekend off and watching others go batshit--we can't do it all by ourselves.

As much as I can relate, historically, to PSU failures... the reality is that they were a hell of a lot better than us when it counted.

They shit the bed against Temple, but they'll be bowling at the end of the year, while we get to reflect on what a 3 win season does for us in the long run.

I'm going with 4 wins. But yeah.

Where you getting 4 from? You think we'll beat Maryland?
Army and one other that I cannot predict although MD is one of the more likely possibilities I guess. Considering everything the team's gone through so far this season, the fact that we're 2-2 (and nearly 3-1) suggests to me that we may be a little better than it feels as we wallow in our misery of the past six weeks.

We do have some good players (running backs, tight-ends, Grant and Bergen plus receivers that are getting open). Our coach ain't great, but he's also not quite as bad as many make him out to be. Ditto for our young QB. Or the other QB.

The key is maintaining some stability in the program over the remaining 8 games. If that happens, I think we'll win 2 more.

Don't sell our board short, people were melting down after the win against Kansas.
This board melts down on a daily basis. It's a bye week and it is one of the most depressing days on the board for quite a while. Let' s just forfeit the rest of the season . . .

They better go bowling. With their schedule anything less than 9 wins should be a disappointment.

Four of their remaining seven games are against ranked teams. It's not going to be easy for them to get to nine wins.

Nit fans still think they're just a few pieces of the puzzle away from being an elite program again so they're shocked when reality slaps them in the face. They don't realize they're in the same purgatory as miami.

I don't disagree and as always some teams are surprising, like your wildcats. That being said, when you looked at their schedule in August 9-10 wins was the most likely prediction. I figured they'd lose to MSU, OSU and I was going them a WTF game to get to 9. I'm sorry but with that schedule and 5 million a year coach you should win more than 6 or 7.

How are they in the same purgatory as the U?

Let's see how this year plays out (regarding PSU bowling). They have a very good qb, quality players, and a staff that can't coach. Playing a young qb is rough, even if we didn't have anybody suspended or kicked off the team. PSU is not good.

They will be lucky to get to 6 wins.

tOSU, Michigan, MSU, and NW will destroy them.

I would say they beat Maryland, but Illinois and Indiana will be very close and will determine bowl eligibility.

I believe being in the top half of the Big Ten is not only having talent, but experience in the depth chart...injuries and lack of depth are going to hurt Penn State's chances of getting more than 6 wins this year.

I know we all complain about Rutgers, but think we are in better shape. We will struggle very much against the upper echelon Big Ten teams this year, but I have seen how Rutgers teams have played at home....when the noise comes, we seem to play better...and good things seem to happen.

Hoping our home crowd can help create enough team emotion, so we can pull out a few surprise wins at home and cobble together a (6) win season.
