QB Sanu

Best "hands receiver" I ever saw - didn't even need the gloves.
Wish he didn't get stuck behind a somewhat overrated Julio Jones (many yds but fewer TDs)

He may have been a better safety.

During Sanu's record setting WR year Schiano told media that his best position still would have been safety.

I think he would have been a great QB as well - I mean aside from that wildcat business

Yeah, it wasn't surprising. We were told he did great at safety and then Schiano abruptly put him at wide receiver because of the wide receiver room.
We always need help on offense, then and now
I would trust Greg to patch up the D, but Sanu was needed on O more

It worked out . In retrospect , you have to wonder what the hell greg was thinking. The guy was a very good NFL player

I still remember that UCONN game and we were about to score and out of no where this guy comes running down the field passing everyone. I knew right there this guy has serious talent.

Sanu put a hit on a receiver...don't remember which team...haven't seen a hit like that from an RU DB since

Cincy WR Chad Johnson said he thought Sanu was strongest WR in NFL at the time.
If he played S he would have been Dawkins scary.
He might have lasted longer too because he did have an injury bug.
Better to be the hitter and not the target

He is my favorite RU FB player ever.

The guy can play any position that isn't on the lines and be good at it. Hell, I bet he could make a passable DE in a pinch.

I half expect him to wind up being a head coach here at RU one day. At which point he'll become the winningest coach RU FB ever had.

I'm sure he could long snap if he wanted.
He begged Cincy coaches to let him kick a FG.

I think I know the Britt hit you are thinking about. Maybe Louisville 2008? It was a Hail Mary I think and we had him in at dB. Felt bad for the receiver.
Britt played WR like he was a defender- when a ball was in the air- it was his or no ones!

I know Britt blindside-blocked a back-up WR in the International Bowl up in Canada (Rice had 280 yds and 4 TDs). Kid never saw what hit him. Sanu did something similar to kid he blocked in a Howard game. Sanu was more physical than Britt, and he always won contested balls from one DB and 75% of the time from 2 DBs. Britt only had 2 RZ TDs while Sanu had quite a lot. I think a reason Sanu got hurt a lot was because he was always blowing people up

So - let’s stop there. Why compare. Both were physical, punishing WR’s.
Both went up and the ball was only going to be theirs.
What is your point to knock either?

Nope - Sanu was vastly more physical/talented and could catch with his hands (Britt liked to trap balls with his arms). Sanu was a better person to boot. So go cry...

How about the Britt crack back block in the International Bowl? Absolutely destroyed the Ball State guy.

p.s. I had forgotten that Brady Hoke was the Ball State coach.

That was the International Bowl I posted about. The blocked kid was a back-up freshman.

52-30

Why do some dumb AH’s do this? This great player vs. that great player?
Both were great and had NFL careers.
You really tried to find a fault with Britt. That should say it all.
These guys are 1 &2 and even I wouldn’t try to find a negative.
