I know,I know, this is putting the cart before the horse, but here goes. From the drawings,it looks like the new baseball stadium would be closer to houses. There will still be some rows of trees, but if we want to have a new baseball stadium with lights, could the residents in that area try to get Piscataway to stop us from having lights or put in a time restriction like the Baltimore Orioles used to have ?

Doubtful.

NIght Baseball games are typically over well before any curfew would exist.

New lighting systems are very good at eliminating light pollution. I doubt it would be an issue.

PSU Nut,
Thanks for the info. By the way,is the new Penn State/minor league baseball stadium on campus or within walking distance ?

It is on campus right next to Beaver stadium. It is open on game day so you can check it out before the Rutgers Game.

Campus is in the background.

I like PSU's new ballpark. Looks like a minor league stadium for sure. Also, their soccer stadium is what we're modeling ours after, two short field-length bleachers on both sides (home and away I guess) instead of one large stadium on one side. (We really have a huge soccer stadium relative to other schools).

The stands are nice with identical bleachers on both sides. However the rest of the facility is lacking as there are no permanent restrooms or concession stands. There are plans for a field house and permanent facilities at the field. The baseball field they definitely over built. They will never fill it unless they move the season to later in the year. The two best facilities they have built is the softball and the Pegula Ice Arena. Both are perfectly sized to create nice atmosphere.

How would you have liked this for Rutgers...

It could have happened.

The tough part would have been the fact the seasons overlap. The reason why Penn State sharing works well is because the Spike are a class a short season team. They don't start play until mid June so there is no overlap in scheduling.
