Question about the charge call in the second half

I pretty much know the ruling what a charge is when the defender is stationary. In the second half, I think it was Sanders , drew a charge while defending their player who was dribbling down the court. It was not like the player ran him over.

To me it seemed he was bumping the guy but the call went for us. What is the rule on that call?

It was Johnson defending and the guard stuck out his arm to push Johnson off. That's why it was an offensive foul.

That's what I saw too. If he kept his arm close to his body it might not have been a foul, but it was almost fully extended to push off which will be an offensive foul every time.

I thought they weren't going to call it or call a foul on Johnson, but the Hartford player had been trying to play act and draw a foul his entire way up the court. I think the ref got fed up and when the Hartford kid stuck his arm out, RU got the call.

At first, I thought you were referring to the charge called on Sanders that wiped out a bucket and should have been an "and one". That was a horrendous call as the replay showed Corey twisted to avoid the defender who just flopped.
But yeah the other replies discussing the guard pushing off to create space was the right call and was happening all day. Nigel should have gotten 4-5 calls not 1.

The charge against the Hartford kid was the correct call. He got away with throwing his head back twice earlier in the game on the identical play. Each time he got 2 foul shots as they were already over the limit and he made all of his free throw attempts. The third time finally we got the right call. Also the call on the Sanders basket was horrible. That should have counted as he was turning away from the defender who took the flop. We should have had a chance for the old fashioned 3 point play.

100% Spot On. (right there and for a bit the older white ref almost seemed to have a thing for Corey yesterday).
(I'm an older white guy so I can say that right LOL?)

Some of these refs are not liking his attitude (IMHO) and being really tight with him/sending a message. The opposite of how they used to stand and talk with Miles Mack after a tough call.

I thought the refs for the most part did a solid job yesterday unlike the game prior where the referee must have not appreciated Corey's YouTube videos and called the ultimate wtf tech fouls on him. He's learning to control his emotions and to just concentrate on playing the game. Coach P is doing a heck of a job thus far with Corey.

This
