I have been parking in the white lot due to my mom's handicap situation. We pay the parking fee plus the extra that goes to park in there. The white lot is made up of handicap parking and regular parking. I see alot of RU family members parking there. Anyway after 6 years or so we pulled in the lot and I decided to park in the 4th spot from the entrance. I got out of the car, moved the handicap cone that is reserved for handicap parking (because the attendants don't move them for you) and parked. One of the attendants came up to me and said I couldn't park in that spot it's reserved for handicap. I said I have a handicap ticket. He replied no u have to have a number on it to park here. I said WTF? I've parking here for 6 years and always park around this area. A woman attendant came by and said no I couldn't park there. At this point I'm totally confused. An older attendant supervisor came by and said you have to pay extra to park in that spot. I said Huh? I do pay extra. He said no in order to park in the first 5 spots its reserved for people who pay "extra" extra . I told him I never heard of such a thing. He said it was new. Anyways I moved two spots over. About a half hour later the supervisor comes over and goes into his car that is parked in the 5th spot. I was gonna tell him that I thought those 5 spots were reserved for people who pay extra and then said to myself just let it go. So...anyone who parks in the white lot, have you ever heard of paying "extra" extra to park in those 5 spots?

The old "my parent needs handicap parking" scheme to get close to the stadium. Have you no shame! :)

Dude please. I wish I didn't have park in that lot. It pains me each week to see her try to make the trek to the stadium.

My parents use the white lot. Never heard of your situation.
They have handicap decal on car and their parking passes. They don't move the cones themselves though. An attendant escorts them to a spot and moves the cone. Maybe you pissed someone off

Maybe they are personally reserved parking spots like they have in the Green Lot? I know someone who paid extra to get the same spot every week in Green.

Report that to someone. This could be some kind of CSC (Country Club Services) misuse of power.

Just asking since my ticket rep never mentioned about donating extra to get a VIP spot.

They're phasing it out of the White lot after this year. I believe only two spaces in the lot are reserved. I think Green lot will continue to have reserved spots but I'm not sure.

Didn't mean to be curt, if it came across that way.

Yes. They have in the Scarlet Lot ADA Section too.
Yes, but only if you qualify. That requires extra, extra, extra and still extra. Then when you think you're OK, it's still not enough and nobody cares either. Believe me, I know from experience. My 65 years as a season ticket holder, isn't enough !

This is my 2nd year in the white lot. The Howard game I parked in the 4th spot, only because of the shade. No problem. The NM game parked in the 3rd row by choice and cars were in those 5 spots. Last game same thing, but after the game a RU fan and his wife (with a special ID tag) came over to chat for a minute about the game. He was the only car left in one of those spots about an hour after the game.
I haven't heard of that "extra", but nothing surprises me anymore. Our seats are in Section 103 and we walk slowly after being dropped off at the grove intersection, about 200 yards to our seats. No Knightengale service to the West Gate, but they take VIP' s.
If you're ADA, too bad. The plus is the lot is easy to enter and exit.
Keeping sending Hobbs e-mails and just maybe..........

We also always get dropped at the grove intersection. Sometimes if the driver is new or if I ask nicely he will drive to the gate by the Hale Center. Did it last week as he asked where do you want to go and I said Hale Center and be obliged. I told him that he wasn't supposed to go there as I didn't want him to get in trouble. There should be a cart for people who seriously can't make walking to the lots from the Stadium by the Hale Center.

Parking attendants move the cone for us. I have a hang tag. Admit the attendants don't pay a lot of attention.

My wife and I have parked in the white lot for several years due to her disability. We were also told that the numbered spots were "reserved" so we park in the next available non-numbered spot. When we arrive, normally about 9am for a noon game, no one moves the cones for us, we have to move them ourselves (last year someone would move them for us).

He was looking for a handout, a "tip." A $20 bill is magic. But for a handicap parking situation? That's about as low as there is. Next time, get his name. Make it personal. Make him move you.

I believe the screws are correct but with that said, I completely understand the question. Maybe a can is spray paint and 'reserved' would have made it clearer.
BTW- some of the white lot people used to be some of the rudest people out there.

We must know each other. We park in the few first spots. We are the ones with the metal knight on a table.

This was my impression. Sounds like someone is personally looking for something extra.

As a valet in college for a banquet hall this was standard operating procedure. To shake down Handicap spots is really something else..

Yes, I know who you are, I see you every week. I drive the blue sonata with the Rutgers plates. I think my wife stopped to talk to you a few weeks ago to make sure all was ok after not seeing you at the Howard game.
