Nothing, but what happened to Brendan Byrne?Whatever happened to Louis Brown?
Is it in the AD Master Plan to sell the naming rights to the RAC?
Isn’t it technically still the LBAC? Not that anybody calls it that?Poor Louis Brown...didn’t even lose the name battle to a sponsor...it just “quietly” went back to the RAC
I have not heard that name uttered in years and TV casters HAVE to use the sponsor name is a stadium or arena has one...unless LBAC was just some touchy-feely overly sentimental gesture with no $$ associated with it?Isn’t it technically still the LBAC? Not that anybody calls it that?
True and the official website of Rutgers Athletics - scarletknights.com lists the facility as the RAC. I wonder when it changed?I have not heard that name uttered in years and TV casters HAVE to use the sponsor name is a stadium or arena has one...unless LBAC was just some touchy-feely overly sentimental gesture with no $$ associated with it?
Of course, just like we all call it Rutgers Stadium. But it’d still be nice to rake in a few dollars right? It seems like the time is right to seek sponsorship soon. The economy is on somewhat stable footing. WBB appears on the road back to national prominence, MBB doesn’t stink anymore, wrestling hosts well attended meets. It has to be worth 750k a year, no?It will ALWAYS be “THE RAC,” fellas, regardless of sponsorship.

Her husband can afford it.Well since its so good for recruiting we should just call it the Selma Hayek Center (AKA the RAC)

Thanks for the info. Something should be named after Louis Brown. Maybe the semi-circ drive in front of the RAC or the green or something. Maybe erect a bust of his likeness in the atrium. But given the number of corporations in NJ, somebody’s gotta want to sponsor the arena.Louis Brown was an alumnus who named Rutgers in his estate when he died. No idea how much he left to the school. They named the RAC after him a year or two after he died in the mid 80s.
There was a thread on here a few years ago about how the name was being dropped and reverting back to the RAC. Apparently the Brown family wasn't resistant to that. Maybe this was around the time of entering the B1G earlier this decade. I guess that allows Rutgers to consider corporate naming rights and something may be in the works.
Ugh...F’n ND.They gave over $100MM to Notre Dame. They can send a couple of coins to Rutgers.
Why upset about their donating to repair Notre Dame after the fire?Ugh...F’n ND.
Ooohh. That ND. No issue with that. I thought you meant those effin Leprechauns. Why upset about their donating to repair Notre Dame after the fire?

We could have a Frank Costanza Manziere Night. How about a bra company? Example - The Maidenform Big RAC Entertainment Center
Louis Brown never asked Rutgers to name it after him. They simply did it because he left a large sum of money to the school when he died. So there is no legal responsibility to keep the name even if a relative is alive. If there are no Brown relatives alive or care about it that can contest the name on the building, or if a good Rutgers lawyer can make it that we can change the sponsorship name legally, we should go out and get a big sponsor again to get new sponsorship rights money.
Best of Luck,
