Richard vs Brandin Knight

Can you site a couple of the stories he's broken that actually were correct? Seems he's been wrong very often or innuendo or was spouting bs already out to the public.

How do we score this one?

0
0
1 (Ogbole)
1 (Princeton/MSU some people happy for either or both)
0
TBD (Did caleb get a G League Contract)
1 (seemingly in Ace's commitment)
.33 (OSU Yes Michigan No MSU "Dramatic Ending" more a dramatic 2nd Half)

3.33 out of 7

with 1 still to be determined.

Not bad right, some are a little vague, e.g. specific big man wasn't named.
Specific game to be happy about wasn't named.
Big donor stepping up seems spot on, I believe that was solid intel.
Other information here is opinion. It's just all mixed together.

Paul Mulcahy hitting the portal recently was one. Even if the guy doesn’t hit on everything he still is plugged into college hoops and is knowledgeable. I enjoy reading his take on things.

He made up for the Paul one later.

Were any of those based on actual "insider information" or just guesses?

Many (including him at the forefront) said HC Pike was never playing Princeton (so much for that inside info).

Was the Caleb item based on inside info from a team or just general knowledge (most anyone could predict Caleb would "get a g-league shot").

He drops more inside info than any other poster and his hit rate is definitely higher than 75% (the stuff that may seem obvious but is unannounced)

Most important, he DOESN'T need to do this, he won't even be reading this cuz he doesn't post on the free board ( yea, I get it, Twitter is free) but he is as plugged in as anyone and loves RU. He and @mb5789 combined probably contribute more to this board than any staff member not named Richard ( no offense to any staff member)

*cite, guess that is why even accomplished authors like yourself have editors!

His biggest source is Pikiell, who uses Richard to get info out when he wants to.

I don’t know if this is true but he’s clearly betting his career on NIL and it would seem beyond RU

I wouldn’t classify him as a media figure.

More like some kind of an agent or promoter to me, but this explains why he’s trying to build something on Twitter rather than just share insights here.

Richard is the color commentator for Yale’s basketball games, has written several books on basketball and sports, is a well known figure on the Northeastern basketball scene, in addition to his other ventures. I don’t always agree with him, especially when he ventures to commenting on the NBA, but he is well connected on the basketball scene and Pike clearly uses him when he has information that he would like disseminated without putting it out personally.

Huh?
I don’t get the comment that “he doesn’t post on the free board” he posted on here quite often until a couple of months ago.

I read one of his posts on the RT and he
made a similar comment. Thought it was bizarre to say the quiet part loud.
Assuming he was asked by Richie or hired as part of TKR to make the switch since the podcast appearances started.
But to say there is no posting here but enough activity for a “Free
Board Only Member” in RU66 to have such a strong opinion does
Not compute.

I believe the call on the donor was inside info.
Some of those like where we would finish (seed) and game outcomes are obviously his opinion, which is sometimes spot on and sometimes off.

Overall I’m happy he contributes to the board and provides the info he does.

My point was that sometimes correct opinions are mixed with actual intel. Which may both end up being right (because he does have good basketball knowledge). You have to discern between the two and can’t take every nugget as gospel.

Richie went to him privately and worked something out to get him off the free board.

If he’s Pikes favored inside source, not sure Brandin would be going after him. My guess is he could be getting less and less “inside” info now that he’s making that info public.

One day being added to Mt. Rushmore; next day trampled by the crowd.

RK brings much good intel to the board/Twitter and makes my days more enjoyable.

Despite not hitting on every prediction, he’s a great part of the RU BB online culture for me.

We always have people killing posters who post inside info if it doesn’t come true — they even do it to Richie S.

Circumstances change; kids change, etc. On balance, I want as much info as possible. Let me sort it out.

Keep posting, RK.

If what you say is true?-Like I said, he's a lawyer who's always trying to make a buck.
Richie went to him. Not sure what you said this time but normally you are wrong when you say it from what I’ve seen.

Guessing someone breaking all the bball news on freeboard isn’t good for business but that’s speculation.

Light true. Which I don't like because the basketball board had always had an excellent community and culture that is slightly distinct from the RT, which of course has lots of football.

I am not a fan of his delivery and how he comes off smarter than everyone else, but it is 100% wrong to attack him professionaly
Sorry but who attacked him " professionally ". He is an attorney who's looking to make a buck. And if you go back and watch the first couple of TKR's podcasts that he was on he actually asked something about getting paid for his info.

There's no feud, I just don't

like him and his self bloated crap or his love of Uconn --but like others I have told him to stop sending me DM's on this site about how special he is .

100% with the DMs. I never responded them.

Oh my god. I dont even know who Jordan Dingle is. I don't care how many "NBA scout friends" you have that love the kid. There was minimal chance he was going to the NBA in 2023.
My "insider sources" were that he wasn't invited to the NBA Combine or even the G-League camp. Guess my sources (public information) was more reliable than "NBA scout friends".
This was after the "insider report" that Dingle wasn't transferring until next off season after he got his degree.

as long as your significant other knows who your dingle is everything is good.....and it isnt going to the NBA unless it is in the stands

You said he’s not a good media guy . Yet he has written a bunch of books, including one on Federer. What books did you write ?

He stopped posting on the free board a few months ago after all the back and forth whining - similar to what this thread has dissolved into ( present company excluded)

He is definitely trying to build a brand and I would classify Richard as a Swiss Army Knife of college basketball, as he does color commentary on Yale bball, is VERY plugged in on both UConn and RU and is an agent for a few coaches and perhaps a few players seeking NIL .

Not sure there is a better source on our board for Northeast basketball, and Richard loves RU as much as anyone - it's possible to like Yale and UConn simultaneously

Sojo dropping the inside info ( you might be right - just busting your chops cuz this whole thread is about inside info 😔

Ogbole thread reminded me about this thread.
Guess the insider reports were wrong?

Branding Knight - 1
Insider Reports - 0
Well, to be fair, supposedly Mag was "available" (which is what 72 said would be the case for PU), but decided not to play, so I'd rate this one as a push wrt/Mag. Regardless, 72 can be a bit testy and cryptic, but I've always enjoyed his posts and the inside info/insights he provides, even if some of his predictions don't pan out, since many do. And there are few bigger RU fans (and I don't give a crap if he also likes UConn and Yale - he bleeds Scarlet).
