for years they’ve done their best to hold us back.

For years their personal gain came before anything else.

It’s finally over. Rutgers will go ahead and hire Greg , no matter how hard they dig up stories from decades ago. We will finally flip the narrative with these guys and will not cave into their pressure.

Huge day for N.J. Huge day for the U of N.J.
Huge day for Rutgers football

Just keep moving forward.

Don’t even blink, don’t stop.

When something is legitimately wrong and needs to be brought to light , you guys all know damn well our fanbase will call the program out. We are brutally honest and have good balance - we don’t need our enemies deciding anything for us.

Onward let’s go

This^^

For all the reasons given as to why certain people felt GS might not be the right guy, no credible board member I saw gave his time at PSU as one of them. Why? because the connection is beyond weak.

So when the hell is hiring happening ? Delay not looking good.

Why is not looking good? The wording of contracts has to go through a million lawyers and be approved by quite a few people. This is a normal process.

oddly - there are no comments on the article. Wondering if NJ.com is blocking comments as I am sure this is click bait for either pro or con on the subject.

Ledger aside, please clarify that we are going to hear something today. Or are you just waxing poetic.

A million? Hell, I have been on sides of contracts where there are 2 or 3 lawyers, and it sometimes take several weeks to iron on details. With a million lawyers----worst case scenario---2042 at the earliest!!!!

Yep, they blocked comments because they knew they would get destroyed for posting that nonsense.

Terrible post! Misleading on two major lies just likenthe Star Ledger does.
The Star Ledger is not dead.
Greg Schiano has not been hired.

Condemning the Star Ledger for their lies but than you follow their script. Unreal.

Was it back when Mulcahy got fired? I recall someone posting it here before.
me. I signed it. you want it here or if you message me I can send over file. I'm not premium so you have to reach out to me if you want it direct.

More of a rallying cry my man.

Our relationship with the ledger can be killed and reborn in a different light starting today .

You on board ?

RIP? More like GFY.

The guy who wrote the Schiano hit piece is Ted Sherman, the same guy who did the hatchet job on Mulcahy years ago.

Sherman and Margolis won a Pultizer for "breaking news coverage" of McGreevy resigning.. when that was likely a case of the Star Ledger KNOWING everything for years before it became public and then being forced to dump what they knew in the paper so they would look like they were doing their jobs.

Then the whole "secret payments to Schiano" thing came up as a way to clobber Bob Mulcahy.. which I contend was about Mulcahy spending $100M on stadium expansion without going through the politicians to select winners and losers in contracts. In any case, they got put for an award for investigative journalism for reporting on the "secret payments" which were reported in that paper in a press release form 6 months earlier. I certainly hope I had a hand in preventing them from winning anything there.. but they were already finalists when I became aware of it and wrote to the award committee.

Politicians and the media working together like the NJ Dems and the Star-Ledger do is disgusting. And this latest Don't Hire Greg Schiano story is another example of it. How the hell is this on the radar of that victim's rights group? How the hell did this story come about? Did some political appointee on the BoG contact that victims group and get them hooked up with their people at the Star-Ledger? The Star-Ledger is a Syracuse alum owned paper... has a whole journalism school named for him... was all the racist/anti-Semitic news at Syracuse an impetus to spread the misery down to Rutgers? Is that how this story got assigned?

Rip because the old relationship is dead.

But if they want to turn the page and start new, we should be game.
I’d give them top level access if they acted with fairness

Find a new paper to give access to. Hell if the NY Post would be interested I'd go over the state line for coverage. NJ.com has burnt the bridge with me if I were RU.

No problem - I’m down with that too.

Just want the paper to serve the people of the state the right way

OP you might be right. SL is dead. The only place is see this article and the softball article is on this board. nobody else is talking about. They have totally lost their influence.

They don't hire good looking staff at the Ledger. Maybe that's why they're so negative.

What a nerd

Rutgers would be brain dead if it hired Schiano.
He was associated with the worst scandal in CFB history.
He must pay for his crime of not going to the police.
He could have saved so many innocent lives.
He is damaged goods.
