Trying to look for some positives and was surprised to see Robert Martin leads the B10 in rushing so far this season..............hopefully, he can keep up his production as we are going to need it going forward.
and why it baffles the mind he didn't get a single chance to score from inside the 5 on that series...Trying to look for some positives and was surprised to see Robert Martin leads the B10 in rushing so far this season..............hopefully, he can keep up his production as we are going to need it going forward.
We had a first down on the 3. That still bothers me that our QB ran 4 times and Martin never even touched the ball once. I cannot believe that after how well he has been running. That was a complete joke.
And that is with defenses keying on our RBs.
Some of that is on Oden. He should have let Martin keep it at least once.
It doesn't? How does it work? What exactly does the read stand for then? That's not how the read option works

huh? Oden either hands it off to martin or pulls it. That's exactly how it works.
The point NorthNJRUFan is making is that Oden is supposed to run or hand off based on what the defender does. It's not just a random decision. That's not how the read option works
I know you know football and that's why I was perplexed. Maybe after all the complaining about play calling I am jaded. I read your post as if he didn't let him keep the ball as if it wasn't an option for him. QB's made the right reads......OC said as much in the presser. You not o key passed you tested out.Ive seen you post. You know football. And you should know I know football. I was telling the poster that the QB doesnt "let" the RB "keep it once" like they take turns. Obviously the QB is reading someone (a diff key depending on what offensive play is called) and will keep it or give it depending on the actions of the defender. If the poster meant that he had reviewed the game and could tell who the QB was reading and that the QB made a bad read thats one thing. To say he "should have let him keep it once" is just not how it works.
Thanks for the quiz though. Im glad I passed it :)
As Ray Lucas said during the broadcast- "Goodwin is running in 5th gear today." Think he was out to prove himself.Goodwin also ran well against Iowa, but did not have many touches.
Well it is definitely not how it "worked" when Laviano kept it and looked at a defender just standing there waiting on him. He should have seen that and let the back keep the ball. That's not how the read option works
