Ron played in the NBA!

Glad to see that Ron played well... 1-4 from 3, and 7-9 from 2, for 8-13 overall.... Hopefully his 3 pt shooting percentage will continue to improve in the future, so his potential value to NBA teams will improve correspondingly.

Ron and last night's leading scorer Jeff Dowtin are the Raptors' current 2-way players, but that can change at any time, so hopefully Ron will continue to impress in his Raptors 905 games... Looking forward to his next games (back home in Toronto against the Knicks' G-league team) on Thursday and Friday. The Thursday game is scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN+ and on MSG2 in case anyone is interested and has access to those channels.
Ron has always been streaky from 3. He needs a bit more consistency. He will get hot at some point from 3

Davis was the 10th pick in the draft! Pretty awful selection by Washington if he didn't even make the team.
Washington recalled him from the G League today, so he'll be on the bench during the Wizards-Hornets game.. During the summer he had some back problems, and then missed a few practices a month ago with a knee injury... He's 20, and became a father for the first time in September, so maybe he'll be okay when things settle down a little bit for him.

His freshman year?
No. This is the claim one of the "board experts" had when he decided to transfer. No biggie as he projected to be the 3rd person off the bench or some other insane claim. We were net better off with Yeboah, whom we weren't going to get with EO or some other such nonsense. kykwhatever.

And regarding Eugene O, he had a career high playing for the Thunder's NBA team in their win over the Raptors on Friday.... 27 minutes, 8-10 from the field, 5-6 from 3PT, and 1-2 FT, for 22 points. 3 Reb, 1 Ast, 1 Stl. (2 TO, 5 PF).

Speaking of the NBA Raptors, their frontcourt is temporarily decimated with injuries, with their leading scorer/rebounder, and their second leading rebounder both out, as well as others... In the box score from the Raptors' loss to the Pacers last night. Toronto players listed as inactive were Precious Achiuwa, Ron Harper Jr., Justin Champagnie, Fred VanVleet, and Pascal Siakam, and reserve center Khem Birch was also listed as a "Did not dress" due to injury/illness... (Ron was also listed as inactive for the Raptors 905 G League game on Friday, for "personal reasons"...) Hope all is okay with him... The Raptors' other 2 way player, Jeff Dowtin Jr, played for the G-League team on Friday, and then was on the NBA Raptors' bench on Saturday at Indiana, so maybe Ron will be called up too when he's available if the Raptors' injuries persist... Ron still hasn't been shooting well from 3Pt in G league play so far (1-8, 12.5%) while shooting over 51% from the floor, and Toronto media articles regarding the Raptors have occasionally mentioned it.

(In RHJ's last G-league game on Thursday in the Raptors 905's win over the Westchester Knicks, he scored 23 points on 10-19 shooting, 0-2 from 3PT, and 2-2 FT, 10 Reb, 4 Ast, 2 Stl, 1 Blk... Not sure how they got 23 points (instead of 22) if those shooting stats are correct, but multiple box scores state the same thing.... Brief game highlights of that game are linked below if anyone is interested.. RHJ is #8 in red....)

This box score is a mystery to me.. according to ESPN.com:

The Raptors 905 were 50-100 from the floor, 6-24 from three, and 12-13 on FTs.

So presumably that is
50-6 = 44 2PT for 88 points
6 3PT for 18 points
12 FT for 12 points

which is... 118 points. But they have 122.

The Westchester Knicks are 49-93, 13-36, 3-11 (!) which should be

49-13 = 36 2PT for 72
13 3PT for 39
3 FT for 3

= 114 points. But they have 115.

Ron Harper Jr is back in the lineup, started, and is playing well in this morning's Raptors 905 game against the Greensboro Swarm.... If anyone is interested, the game is being shown live on youtube.. With 4 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter, Ron has 14 points on 6-7 shooting, 2-3 from 3PT.

Edit: Halftime stats: RHJ 19 pts, 8-9 shooting, 3-4 from 3PT. Go Ron.

Link won't work for me here. Youtube stream title is:

Finished with 29 points on 11-15 shooting and 3-6 from 3PT.

Ron is proving many of us fans right!

The people who said RHJ wouldn't even make the G-League were just as clueless as those saying he was going to be a 1st round pick.
Any sensible fan knew he would have a post-Rutgers career playing basketball at minimum in the G-League.

Mac McClung gets G League rookie of the year and no team wants him. It tells me
1. He isn't a type of guy you want on your team
2. G League performance (at least in raw #s) doesn't mean all that much

First of all, as ouchmyknee mentioned, he's relatively small for an NBA guard. And that may or may not be part of the reason why his defensive abilities are routinely questioned in NBA evaluations.

With that being said, the G-League Rookie of the Year award goes to the rookie who is considered to have helped his G-League team the most during the course of the season. If you look at the G-League stats, McClung's stats were inferior to many of the G-League players who weren't rookies, and to many of those who were called up to NBA teams earlier in the season and weren't on their G-League teams for the majority of the season. We have to keep in mind that the G-League rookie of the year award is a lot different than the G-League MVP award, and especially when only a limited amount of NBA roster spots are available to G-League players.

Keep it to one paragraph. All you get in a post that references the NBA. Anything more than that loses me.
Sorry I lost you... I thought that your previous post suggested that McClung's G-League Rookie of the Year award proved that G-League stats mean very little to the NBA, because McClung still isn't regularly playing in the NBA..

You may be correct in suggesting that G-League stats aren't very important when it comes to NBA evaluations, but to use McClung's G-League Rookie of the Year award from last season as evidence didn't seem like a valid argument, if we take the time to look at all the facts involved.. I was just trying to make sure that more of the involved factors were understood.

Good info.

New rule NBA posts have to be in haiku form (5-7-5)

Could end up with back to back G-League ROY with Rutgers connections.

2022 ROY was Mac McClung - that former recruit that many on the board seemed to always bring up.
Is Kiss in G league too? Need an update on him.
