RU has 4 players that are practice players who will only see the court during mop up time.

Is that normal to have 4 of these type of players? Not 2 or 3?

Also, why aren’t Ogbole and Austin Williams playing ?

Williams hurt his knee prior to Georgetown, and Ognole is returning from his own knee injury.

How good is A Williams?
A rotation player?
Yes, I believe he will be a rotational player. His strength is on the defensive end and he fills a role as our biggest guard at 6’4” who can defend bigger guards and small quick wings. He is physical as a defender and has lots of experience. On the offensive end, he is more of a slasher with a mid range game as he does not shoot that well from the perimeter. He definitely fills a role on this team. Pike was starting him in the first few games as I recall, before he got injured, but I see him more as a role player going forward based on matchups.

From what I’ve seen, he looks the part but is rusty and a step slow, likely bc of the knee. Got torched on D a few times, but seems willing. Hopefully like Noah it’s a matter of getting your legs back and meshing with the team. Would help us guard bigger backcourts that’s for sure.

We have 3 scholarship players out on long term injury (Mag, Ogbole, J. Williams).

That only leaves 10 scholarship players active. Hence the additional non-scholarship players on the bench.

Mag is supposed to return soon.

J Williams is injured or suspended?

Both??
Was injured but also needs a waiver since we're his 2nd transfer.

If you are referring to the gambling thing - I don't believe there was any public consequences from the NCAA or Rutgers.

A. Williams had a knee injury last year, and it appears he may have aggravated it recently, which resulted in him sitting out the past two games. He will be a depth piece at Guard, especially now that our three small guards are playing at a high level.

J. Williams tore his Achilles about a year ago or more, but apparently has been a very good practice player thus far. There's been no word on (1) his transfer waiver; or (2) any punishment from the gambling thingie. On the waiver issue, there have been a handful of guys recently around the country who have been granted waivers despite transferring twice, so maybe there's a glimmer of hope for J-Will?

Mag is close to returning from his February ACL tear. Best guess is that he will play a bit in our next game against St. Peter's next Monday.

Ogbole tore his ACL in March, so he's a bit behind Mag in rounding into playing shape. Have no inside knowledge, but I'd be surprised if we see him in game action before January.

Maybe we save Ogbole till next year for depth especially if he is not ready to go till January

He's already 23 so if he can help defensively this season, I wouldn't worry about redshirting. He still has two more years starting next season.

They may redshirt him if he isn't ready to contribute.
