I’m a little concerned about the 3rd attack spot. I’m not seeing the dynamic play the other two guys have.
D is a concern just with who lost. I expect they will get better as we progress. Obviously having Max our hurt a little bit. We also had our second string out. Pounds is the third guy. He stopped the ball well. Where we really missed Max was outlet passes triggering our run game.Should we be a little concerned about the fact that we gave up 7 goals Lafayette? I mean it I is opening day, 30° weather, and without our all world goalie, So maybe not?

I’ll keep you posted. Soon!Nice analysis, thanks brotha! When are you coming out here?
He is injured, not a long term thing. Sorry it took so long I was cold.Could you elaborate please?

AC looking "like he never left". Music to our ears. Man that brother is smooth.
Good summary...It was chilly but the sun and flask were out so it ended up being a comfortable day.
I thought Pounds played well, the only drop off that I noticed was the transition game and I am not sure what to attest that to. I thought Lafayette was riding use pretty hard and we did miss some some passes in the middle of the field that should have been caught but thankfully LC did not capitalize. I believe we tighten this up as the season progresses.
We were off to a nice start offensively in the first but I think we played a little too fast and loose in the second. Our attack is very skilled and can play well in tight quarters but a couple of the shots were at angles that had almost no chance of going in.
I think we made an adjustment and slowed things a bit in the second half and had a really good looking 4th quarter.
It was good to see Sprock get on the board, I thought he was going to go back to back.
I was pulling for #44 and I am sure he tallies in short order.
What a pleasure it was to watch our face off game, I pray that continues!!
Schnacte filled in on attack without missing a step.
I was surprised that we had a couple of shot clock violations, it looked as if the players were not aware of the time.
Overall a real fun day, we definitely need some fine tuning but it looks like the pieces are there.
It was really good to talk to you as well. Enjoy your night with your sonGood summary...
I think it was a good day to get acclimated...Mullins and AC looked great and this team will need them to be what they are...superior playmakers...
I think the midefield is going to be just fine...as has been said...very deep...1st line didn't have a goal today until about midway through the third when Casey finally found the back of the net...guys are getting the feel, and I think you will see them get better over the next few weeks...
One note...we didn't go on an EMO (Man Up) once...that's very odd...and I think that's where you are really going to see the some fireworks with 44 and 0 paired together...didn't get a chance to see the EMO unit today...which I was actually looking forward to seeing...hopefully next week...
It was good to meet RUFamily today and I know the fans and the players really want warmer weather...
Win #1 in the books...St John's is on the clock...
Great meeting you Family...thanks for finding me...great summary. Get warm...I'm still coldOk a couple of things from today. First, I think that Lafayette will be better this year. They return 9 of 10 starters from last year and clearly have kids who can score. Bringing in Myers and Bieda will certainly help with that. They had a very good plan, long possessions on offense and packed in on defense. We did not shoot as well as we can and yet still scored 14 goals and had 3 or 4 pipes.
About us, interesting that they started Pless at close and played Michaeli at LSM, Pless looked very comfortable as did Stahanczyk. We got a little careless inside in the 3rd quarter which resulted I. A couple of goals but that is very correctable. We were able to shot clock Lafayette on their first thee possessions including a man up, so that was pretty good. This will only improve imo. Rope group was very good and deep ( 5 guys deep)
Face off’s were what I thought they would be as Harryman was doing a good job all winter and it showed today. The thing I liked was that when the brought in the pole Harryman made an adjustment after losing the ball twice.
Midfield was fast and balanced as they got two goals from both lines and I would expect that Kamish and Gallagher won’t be kept off the score sheet for long. I still think that the middies are working through the offense a little and eventually you will see them shoot off the dodge rather than always moving the ball.
What can you say about the attack 9 goals with AC looking like he never left and Mullins looking like the perfect quarterback of the team. I would not worry so much about Coyne as I think as they start to refocus on AC, Coyne will get a lot more good looks with Schnacte getting two goals today he is showing why he will have to play.
Goalie- Cali is correct that Pounds did a nice job and the fact that our top two goalies are out makes his debut even more important. He made all the saves he needed to and only gave up one kInd of questionable goal.
Overall a good start.
Both teams play in the same elements, but it's safe to say the offensive guys prefer higher temps...days like today the hands are cold, feel isn't great, bodies are NOT as loose...not making excuses...just supporting your comment...shooting will get betterNot our best shooting day. Our goal is 50 shots and we got to 44 score 14. I expect that stat get better, especially as the weather gets warmer.
Good. We need to make the Top 4 at all costs. If OSU takes a step back in the shot clock era, I'm all for it.AC at Rutgers and Grant Ament at PSU (3g 7a) both came back from "IR" with a bang. Penn St definitely sent a message with a 17-7 win over Villanova. Maryland similar to RU with an 11-6 win over Bucknell. Storm clouds over Columbus with only a 12-9 win over Cleveland State.
Golfer was wondering who your son is. If you're not comfortable revealing that I understand. Both teams play in the same elements, but it's safe to say the offensive guys prefer higher temps...days like today the hands are cold, feel isn't great, bodies are NOT as loose...not making excuses...just supporting your comment...shooting will get better
You already know this...just agreeing with you:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
