RU Lax vs Hopkins Predictions

Ok so with 2 subpar outings, one leading to an upset loss at our expense, we finally reach B1G season. We might as well say our record is 0-0 as getting to the B1G Tourney is the only goal that matters from now until May 1st. I believe 3 wins will do it, so whether that means taking care of business at home for both Maryland and OSU and finding one more win or something else, is up to the team.

Hopkins is coming off an OT win to UVA at home, a team that plays similar to RU but is nowhere near as experienced playing our fast paced system. With rain in the forecast, and well known favoritist refs at Homewood, the odds are stacked against us. That said, we have beaten Hopkins twice since joining the B1G and are a poor matchup overall vs RU.

It is nearly impossible to win 3 and not get into the B1G tournament. You play 5 games and 4 of 6 teams get in. I guess theoretically 5 teams could go 3-2 and 1 team 0-5 and one of the 3-2 teams loses some whacked out tiebreaker.

The HOP has already lost 3 games...to Princeton, Towson & a close one to Cuse.

Hop won vs 5/4 Virginia who nearly lost to winless Cornell a few weeks ago

I am still reeling by how unprepared the team was vs Delaware

I know very little about the teams except the fact Rutgers sports teams don't perform very well on the road regardless of the competition.

For those of you watching tonight...fair warning...you will HATE the Hopkins fight song by halftime. As annoying as the FSU chop or Boomer Sooner.

Just heard from a Hopkins buddy wishing us luck and he predicted 13-11 one way or the other. I can't argue with that.

Their good faceoff guy is going to play, though he seems a little limited. We are going to have to perform in that area well. Not loving the weather there.
