RU vists, Wil Gipson..commits to Pitt same week

this staff couldn't recruit when they had something to sell - a new era, a staff with B1G experience. Now they have nothing to sell but an embarrassing program that has regressed. And the fact that everyone in the entire world knows that Ash is a dead man walking makes it even hard to recruit, and of course is the most significant reason why the decision to bring him back is beyond idiotic.

We will have a class that will rank up there with Monmouth and Elon
More fake news. His 2nd class was #42. Schiano’s best class in first 6 was 2006 at #39 and we were a good team by that time. Stop making $hit up.

Joe you can pick the Mike back up.

Hoping that this current staff will improve their performances of the past.Ash did pick up the D performance .But the secondary still needs a lot of work. They will improve when the D line gets more pressure on the QB.The O is another story entirely.RB's need seams to run through. QB is still a disaster area.WR's are MIA We need a B1G type O line. Don't have the personnel for it.The only improvement is losing some of the players. In the first sentence I was hoping. To close ,I will be practical. This staff did NOT get it done in recruiting and on the field in the past. What has changed to make any of us think that they will get it done in the Future?
Secondary played great down the stretch. We are not perfect on either side but they played very well.

If you noticed in the MSU game, Lombardi over threw his receivers a bunch of times. A more accurate thrower would have hit them for long gains and even TD's.Our secondary would have been burned badly by these open receivers. I stand on my calling upon the secondary for improvement.

Nothing you said refuted his point regarding our staff’s poor recruiting results. If anything another mic should drop.

I refuted Manny accurately with stats. He used to say this same BS about Schiano. When he started winning he disappeared until after a bad game. You used to argue against guys like that. Now you are that guy. Congrats.

it is true their QB could have played better but our secondary played very well down that stretch. Everything needs to improve. Burned badly is a tad strong but if a QB gets hot any secondary can get torched. Michigan has a great D and gave up 69 pts so I guess their secondary also needs to improve.

Your opinion of me and a $1.50 gets me through the Essex County Toll Plaza on the Garden State Parkway. That being said, I’ve always been consistent with my logic...as have you, which is any Rutgers HC can do no wrong and any criticism is an ‘attack’. You pulled the same garbage with Flood, so to me you’re ‘that guy’. It’s also funny how you keep trying to harp on me yet when a poster like yesrutgers agrees with me you don’t have s*** to say .

Let's hope Ash starts winning, all you guys throwing out these defensive stats showing improvement over the last few games can be proven right and you can then write post after post belittling the doubters and saying I told you so. The only issue I have with your statement above is that you say the poster disappeared after Schiano "started winning," after 3 years Ash has not won a damn thing and all you guys have right now is a bunch a stats and a lot of hopes and prayers.

Personally I was somewhat surprised. Brian Dohn insisted that Aliquippa HS did not have a good relationship with Pitt. They wouldn't even offer. lol

And the lemmings have been conditioned to follow him blindly. How did that work out?

I wonder where he got that information.

Aliquippa is a small town (pop only about 9000) near Pittsburgh but has an amazing (IMO) record of producing NFL (about 11 or so) quality football players (most matriculating to Pitt).

Some Alliquippa alums include: Darelle Revis, Tony Dorsett, Ty Law, Sean Gilbert, Mike Ditka, Tommie Cambell, Jonathan Baldwin, Josh Lay, Bob Liggett.

Not a knock on Rutgers but he just wanted to play for his hometown school.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

Our whiffs going against G5 and what I consider our "peer" schools in the P5 is alarming. As soon as we hear that any other team is in the mix, it never seems to bode well for us. We have won a couple of battles but whiffed on many more. And the next concerning thing...we keep slow playing or passing on really good "football" players because Ash thinks he is still recruiting for OSU. Seems that all of these guys that we have passed on and end up with BC/Cuse/Temple(oh, they can have them as they are not D1 players) go on to be very good on saturdays.

Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt...

Haskins had a 63.3 % completion rate, for 318 yds and 5 TD's. Any secondary needs improvement after giving up those kind of numbers. I do agree that our secondary has improved. But they are not where we need them to be. Dependent upon the front 7 as always.Y.Baby we have a long way to go to become the team that You and I want us to become. Enjoy the games today.

Was that his numbers against RU or Michigan? We were a mess when we played OSU. Michigan was the #1 D.

Texas just got robbed IMO. Missed PI call changed the game. And I typically like OSU better and have no skin in the game. Just felt like they got robbed.

Yeah if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.
I love how we can assume things in retrospect.

Let me ask you something...
If Ash DID start winning....would you be disappointed?
I'm a Rutgers fan...and I wholeheartedly hope all the doubters are proven wrong.
This would mean we are winning.

The doubters hope they are proven wrong. We all want to win, but there is zero evidence that Ash is capable of doing that here. Not getting rid of him digs us into a deeper hole that the next coach will have to get us out of.

That was against Michigan.BTW,I am looking forward to the Day when all the guys and ladies on this board will have nothing to complain about other than we should have scored more, instead of holding down the score in compassion for the other team.Enjoy the game tonight.

I don't know of any days where NJ recruits wanted to play close to home

Schiano was successful in getting the likes of Kenny Britt, Anthony Davis, Jeremy Zuttah, Pedro Sosa, and many very strong 3-stars.

Not all recruits want to play close to home. NJ recruits these days, for example.

Keep telling your self that.
Ash is getting Zero top NJ recruits.
Funny how PSU, Ohio St., MSU, Michigan, Purdue, Minnesota, etc. all get their fair share of top local in state recruits.

He's competing with Howard, Towson and Marshall for recruits. Dark days ahead

And yet couldnt get to a BCS Bowl with that talent.

Might want to check the rosters ALL of those FBS schools in Texas, Florida, California, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Ohio, South Carolina, Michigan, Oklahoma, and other states. FBS AND FCS SCHOOLS.

The year Schiano left. We had the majority of the best players. We did pretty well in NJ from 2007-2012. But we will never get all of them so I agree with what I think you are saying here.

Yes, I'm not taking anything away from GS's accomplishments...just that we have never been the first thought for nj kids to come play here...even GS had to beg them to come

Wasnt that only after those two recruiting coaches arrived a year or two before Schiano left? Cant remember their names but some of the Top NJ recruits were starting to choose Rutgers other BE schools.

We can’t compete with the allure of playing in front of tens of thousands empty mustard colored seats. Plus when recruits see the off limits hallway that contains the locked ice machine of the famed Pittsburgh Steelers, that’s a signed LOI!

Good one.

I guess it works since Pitt just signed today Rivals 4-star RB Daniel Carter (#11 National Ranked RB) from Fort Lauderdale Fla. That makes 7 Florida recruits Narduzzi pulled in this year from the Sunshine State.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

No one gives a rat’s keister about Pitt. You can pick up your complimentary bottle of shower gel on the way out.

Listening to the Alabama -Georgia game yesterday and the announcer mentioned that some Alabama player who came in for one running play was "just a 3 star recruit." My goodness--Rutgers fans would be elated if Ash can recruit " just 3* recruits " to fill out the class.
