RU vs Iowa game thread 3/11/21 8;30 to 9pm

I'd say AG has been throwing it off a bit as she isn't taking charge last few games I've watched. Seems to save it for late game. She needs to take over!
The D has to tighten up to win this game. AG and DJ can score but need to stop them. Saving the press for Q4 I suppose.
Defense has been much better in the second half they took Marshall out who hit all the 3 pointers in the first half just need to get it down to 8 or even 6 before the 4th quarter and we are right there
Arella leaving Marshall open all night. Her D has been lacking, morale low due to feeling slighted by refs but time to put on big girl tough and play through the adversity
Had it to 9 but they left Marshall wide open again who is guarding her going to need a big 4ht quarter they can do it!!
going to be hard to make up the 11 pt deficit unless able to disrupt Iowa's O with tougher D and defend the 3 better.
Won't give the rust excuse, just will say the way RU played the first quarter gave the Hawkeyes confidence and the momentum to put big lead going into the second half that better play by RU in the 3rd really didn't do enough because Iowa was still making baskets.
Iowa's playing tough in 4th and Rutgers doesn't look like they'll be able to blow Iwa out in the fourth making this game a probable loss.
But not over and hope I'm wrong about loss.

they are better than us..they have more shooters and they are bigger and do the fundamentals.

Iowa can shoot the three and runs a nice offense. Whether they can hit a contested three has not been proven.
just a terrible possession after we got the stop down 8...we were passive and wasted 20 seconds and AG forced it..thats it..now 10 down
beat us 2x and RU didnt play the full schedule. Dont get me wrong RU is good and proved me wrong totally but we still tend to fall back into our bad habits when we play the better opponents and we have always struggled with Iowa although we beat them last year at the RAC
seems like we lost the idea of the teamball tonight and AG forced everything...the issue is digging a big whole which forces us out of our game
We did beat up the bottom of the B1G but played very few games against the other top teams. That may be a lot of the reason.
AG is playing too much hero ball tonight and looking for foul calls, rather than letting the game come to her.
Let's hope for better results for the team next weekend.
Disappointing . Too much complaining to refs and pouting and not enough hustle and quality play.

Disappointing results. Lots of truth in most if not all of the comments made here in this thread so far. Although we came in on a winning streak, a few things gave me reason to be worried. The in-game "scoldings" from player to player looked troubling to me. The first being Tekia calling out Diamond a few games back (loudly on national television). I just wish they would be more constructive in the tone. It seems to happen more and more since that instance. Rella and Mael often on the wrong page. Team play seems to suffer and lack unity. Rella has to trust her teammates more. The stretch of last year taught her that she can't do it all by herself. True trust will go a long way with the talented teammates around her.
Playing the starters so many minutes seemed to catch up to us. THE DIFFERENCE IN THE GAME TONIGHT, ..........Tekia Mack looked dead tired for the first time i can remember. No bounce in her step all night. Look at her stat line and it confirms what I'm saying. A stat line closer to her norm likely lifts the energy of everyone else and eeks out a Win.
