RU vs Maryland @ MD game thread 02/01/18

We get a call. They waved off a MD basket with a shot clock violation with a 31 point lead. Crowd booed.
absolutely embarrassing....this team is now basically as bad as they were last year...take the record aside which I have no idea how that happened.. They did not even have a pulse tonight against a Maryland team who isnt the same dominating team they used to be having been in a lot of close games

This is a preview of next year without Scaife. She seems to have hit a wall after a brilliant 15-18 games.
Especially if you don’t count Maryland’s 30 point win over Ohio State and their 19-3 record They are a very good team We aren’t playing well but let’s not over-exaggerate
I didn't post after last night's loss, because I wasn't surprised with the outcome. I wanted to be wrong. I predicted we would lose by more than 20. We lost by 28 and we were never in this game from the start. I realize that Maryland is an excellent team, but many of us thought after starting 17-2---17-3 that we could compete with anyone not named UCONN or Notre Dame. Now we know the start was just a mirage and now that we're facing top teams, we have no chance. I wish I was wrong, but sadly I'm not. This team is going nowhere fast. It's one thing to have no offense, but we just gave up 80 points. Where's the vaunted Stringer defense? Nowhere to be seen. Right now this is not a well coached team.
This is a team that might be pressing a little to much to win for two reasons.
1> Trying to get Stringer's 1000 might be affecting the team and making them put undue pressure on themselves. CVS with all her coaching experience might be finding it hard to help them relax while feeling the same pressure herself.
2> the top player on team is not playing well, be it starting to feel tired after sitting out last year, or feeling the need to take over the game so CVS reaches 1000 and not being up to that for one reason or another.
AI can see why some feel the season is over already and though were complementary to the team and Vivian during the good times, now feel those good times were because of the opponents faced and now are questioning CVS coaching and the way the team is playing lately.
Results make them have every right to complain and be considered unhappy fans.
There are others who never showed up when Rutgers was winning to express their happiness on the way Rutgers was playing, they now are posting because things aren't going well and I feel they are enjoying the moment so they can act like concerned fans, even though they hoped for loses from game one on.
Those type of trolls I can't respect and try to ignore their bashes. They only want the worst so they can put this program down and refuse to root for wins.
But I do respect those who rooted for wins and enjoyed them while those wins were coming and know it's caring for the program that has made them turn on Stringer and the team because of the way this RUWBB program is looking right now.
But this season isn't over and I know, like me, they want to see RU win and will be as happy as I would be if this RUWBB team turns it around and starts winning and CVS reaches 1000 this year.

scratching my head here on why but this might makes the most sense... last 6 games avg. 6 of 18 for 35.5% . (38 of 107 in total).
but the whole team seems to have morphed backwards...and completely lost everything once we hit the top 25 (like the men did after their big win over the hall)....just don't get the inability to stay consistent with what was working.
