Don't sleep on JVB as well at 157. He majored a solid Princeton guy that day. I could see him being the next Perrotti.
That's probably b/c he was targeting to wrestle at 157 and didn't make the cut. I'm guessing Lewis will be at 165lb this year - and he may actually be more effective at 165, b/c at 157, you'll see Giraldo (at 133) all over again - weak and sluggish.
I'm excited about this team! I agree with many of you thinking we have as many as 6 AA in the room with Ash, Theo, Lewis, Dip, Gravina, and yes, Bak. Bak is a one tough guy there, and I think he has what it takes to AA with little luck going his way.

On November 5th, Richie Lewis wrestled at 157 in the
NWCA All-Star Classic.
I admit I was not a college wrestler. In your mind, I cannot have an opinion or be a fan of the program? So who do I use then? Geez, even when I'm positive, you guys have too pick out one flaw.Bunch of a-holes.Typical with guys who are jock sniffers who never set foot or had limited time on the mat.
Don't let it bother you. I was a college wrestler and he immediately wrote me off as not knowing anything either.I admit I was not a college wrestler. In your mind, I cannot have an opinion or be a fan of the program?
You didn't back out of a transfer from PSU to Rutgers by chance?Don't let it bother you. I was a college wrestler and he immediately wrote me off as not knowing anything either.
LOL..nah. I finished school over a decade ago.You didn't back out of a transfer from PSU to Rutgers by chance?
K...just checkin'....LOL..nah. I finished school over a decade ago.
Correnti wrestled in a dual. His redshirt is long gone.
If we can build depth at the upper weights like we have at the lower and middleweights, RU Wrestling will be unstoppable.
I've never even seen your screen name until now.Great, you where a college wrestler. So where alot of other guys.My PSU guy got scared off, because he saw how the RU fan base acted. Can you blame him? He was a good one, that's for sure..a starter to be exact.I got blasted about Camp coming..he came.I got blasted about Mario Mason..he came.I got blasted about Gross..he's here. One guy doesn't come, because a-hole fans wanted him too instantly appear. With that guy,he would have solidified our upper weights.Don't let it bother you. Hopefully we see Lewis at 157 in the postseason as wng suggests. I like his chances to make the podium there - at 165, not so much.
Gravina has AA ability at 184 - unfortunately there are about 14 or 15 guys that do and only 8 spots on the podium. I could see him low podium (5-8) or R16 with a bad draw.
On December 29th at the Midlands, I think we will see what weight class Richie Lewis is going to compete at in the NCAA Tournament.
I won't be surprised at all to see him wrestle at 165 vs. Cornell.
But, the Midlands will be the moment of truth for Richie IMHO.
Dippery at 133
Ashnault at 141
Theobold at 149
Lewis at 165
might be the only wins for Rutgers vs. Cornell.
I heard Cornell has some serious injury problems. Macri, Palacio and their 197 and Heavy is hurt and struggled to beat Buffalo. This might be a closer match than you think.
That seems a lil shocking as he only weighed in at 162 yesterday...
The likely reason he weighed in at 162 is due to the NCAA 1.5% weight decent rules so that he could drop to 157 for the next match, if necessary. That's probably b/c he was targeting to wrestle at 157 and didn't make the cut.
