Attendance reported 1387. Sad. I don't know what else to say. in a separate thread someone commented that winning sells tickets. That is a fact; we had over 6000 in Arizona yesterday.
🙁 Hey Knight Time, ......nothing personal, but that's(Ariz' attendance) the last thing we RU fans want to hear about right now, I'm sure. 🤨 .....lol
Yes, as you state, the attendance is and has become more and more saddening for a while now. I can't speak for everyone else on here, but it seems that most, like myself, are resigned to the fact that it is just going to take time to build it back up. I think most are excited about the direction thing are heading right now though.
A lot of good reasons for attendance to be poor at tonight's game. First of all, it's only THE most heavenly time of the year for the sports fan.....NFL, NBA, CFB, MCBB, WCBB,...on and on. That's why I say, keep the kids coming to the games and serve up the popcorn. We need to grow the fan base from the ground up.
Also, there were no headliners on either side tonight, players or coaches. All involved are currently in the
prove that you belong stage right now. First step to regaining the fans is bringing in the elite talent. We are taking that step, in the sense that Coach Co is implementing an exciting style of play to entice them.
Have to admit,.....it is distressing to see all these other programs just loading up on talent........ S.Car., NC, Duke, LSU, Ariz, Florida, Vandy, etc.
Looking at that UConn Geno show on SNY just sickens me. Yes, I'm sad for Paige's injury...don't wish that on any player. But Geno acting like it's tough times now that she and one of their heralded freshman are out for the season. Give me a break!! He has a whole roster of top 25 players, many top 10 ranked recruits. AND top notch portal transfers. They should be expected to go all the way as much as any other program. He's got EVERYTHING.
All this and hearing Arizona's attendance and seeing their abundance of riches with recruiting,.....These are the things that the Rutgers fan is going to need to block out over the next few years to get through the growing pains.
