Not a fan, but you gotta respect his business acumen.

McAfee signed a five year contract with ESPN for $85M. But his is not a traditional contract. He is not an ESPN employee. Rather he licensed his show to ESPN, with the $85M being a licensing fee. He still owns the show and controls creative content.

He was also smart paying big time athletes to exclusively be on his show. People said he was crazy for that.

Lead to huge things

They get quoted throughout the week all over sports media. It turns into appointment viewing then the cycle repeats itself.

WVU RB fumbled but if Townsend doesn’t drop the TD it’s a RU win
Townsend doesn’t matter without the BS Slaton call. WVU was reeling at that point and I could see RU pounding them with a steady diet of Ray and Brian the rest of the way. We will never know and we will never speak of this again. Even if I just spoke of this again.

He dropped a perfect Teel pass bruh
Very painful to replay it

I'm not a fan of McAfee or Steven A. Smith. They and too many other sports reporters need to just report the scores/news without all of the drama and self centered bull.

McAfee seems to be more of a sports personality type and doesn't try to make you think he's a sports journalist.
Smith pretends to be a sports journalist but is just a loudmouth sports personality
that shares his BS with everyone that doesn't change the channel when he appears.

I'm not a fan of either, but Pat isn't as bad to listen to as Steve is

I spent two years there and had some of my best professors ever. School is what you make of it.
glad you enjoyed it. My daughter went there; wanted a large school and didnt like Pitt and didnt get into main PSU campus as she wanted to go out of state so big no to RU.. they diagnosed a anxiety academic testing disorder freshman from tests ... changed her academic projection... i loved the area ,campus and tailgating there was great...

Not necessarily
WVU would have had to gotten a touchdown instead of the tying field goal as shown here
They drove downfield with just needing the 3
If down the seven points they would have tried to convert the 4th down
Its a common misconception that a caught Townsend td there was a definite game winner
Also forgotten is that we could still have won in regulation with a long field goal

Beautiful area. I rented a crappy off campus house my second year with roommates on the fringe of Sunnyside, but the view of the Mon and the mountains off our back porch was worth it! 😂

WV always brags about having 25 Rhodes Scholars (RU with 8) but I think WV benefits from the program's regional requirements. Not that I'm impressed by these prizes anymore. Scholar athletes used to be favored and now its a hive thing

I still had a good experience there. No need for negativity.

Was not almost heaven for my kid.. she lasted 27 days there before returning to NJ. Those Mountaineers party hard! She lived in Boreman on frat row.
I’m glad she’s back. 6 hours away was too far. Lol

The Cheat Lake area is nice.
We went to Coopers Rock.. what a view! I was looking forward to returning to see it in October, but that never happened.

Yeah, it’s definitely not for everyone and when I was there- which was in the 80s, it was very frat focused for social life. But I figured out a niche with the goal of getting good grades and getting into RU. I hope your daughter is doing well now.

Most painful and costly loss in RU football history. A win would have resulted in our only-ever conference championship and a trip to a BCS Bowl. Our Orange Bowl opponent would have been Wake Forest and that RU team would have destroyed them.

Definitely, talk about a quick whistle changing the whole course of a game. That was a fumble AND a TD for us.

You say bruh more than my 15 year old Nephew. Not that there’s anything wrong with it.
You say “you” more than my grade school niece bruh 😎

Chill dudes, it's totally copacetic!

Don’t disagree per se but one legged Teddy Bridgewater says “Hold my Beer.”

GO RU

First- F WVU and any of their POS fans.

The racist crap we got walking through those tailgates to the stadium was the worst shit you come ever hear.
And then even during the game- one of the other player families who bought tickets on their own and did not sit with tge rest of us families- those shits actually got between the parent and their teenage girls and started taunting the parents on what they we going to do to their girls.

Yeah- no, nothing good to say about any of them.

This is definitely the most painful of a long lineage of painful games. In addition to the other "what ifs?", also frustrating that when Leonard scored a go ahead TD in OT, we couldn't stop them from tying the score.

Heartbreaking really. I was a click away from booking my flight out of Newark.

Just think, after the game he celebrated by drinking moonshine with the boys, tipping some cows and batting some mailboxes, having a bonfire with the sofa, and then heading home to sleep with his cousin in the hayloft.

Wasn't a bad day for him, all in all.

Don't tell 5-0 I said this, if he's still in the picture. But I, for one, can certainly empathize with not wanting to be away from you for very long. 😉

They also needed an uncalled defensive pass interference on Rice when we were going for the 2pt conversion to tie in OT.
