RU-Wake game thread

If other teams just played a packed in 2-3 zone against us, I don't think we'd score 40 points

We are a playground team. If our guards don't get to the rim, we have no clue how to work towards generating a decent look.

Would love to see what their practices are like.

Pat Hobbs coming on. This is why I am watching.

Honestly defensively this is the best we've looked all year. not great but not lost either. There just isn't any way to get points. dammit I am so tired of saying that. :chairshot:

scratch this offense please. It's terrible. It's basically 3 passes on the perimeter and someone then decides there's nothing happening and either takes a touch shot or forces a drive to the basket. Eddie needs to implement some downscreen and pick and rolls into this offense. Unbelievable..

I absolutely LOVE the fact that we have multiple athletic guys who can dunk - incredibly well - for the first time in ages.

Watching our 3s is admittedly torture for this 3-lover (Sanders 3 notwithstanding).

its not the offensive system. Its like the "we have to play the spread" argument in football. no you don't. If you don't have guys that can score, you won't score. If you have guys with offensive skills, they'll score in any system.

These announcers are bugging me. Continually harping on bad shots by Rutgers and calling out the Freshmen but completely ignoring the tons of bad shots and quick possessions Wake is taking.

Best defensive effort of the year by far but the offense is dreadful playground one on one...not going to win that way. Wake is beatable but we arent smart enough

Just bench Lewis already. 2 point game, he gets a rebound right under the basket and he goes down with the ball, instead of straight up. He's a freakin' 5th year guy are you kidding me? So he loses the ball, they nail a 3, up 5 at the half. Unreal.

Couple of thoughts.

No idea what Freeman is doing tonight. Settling for long jumpers and almost nothing inside.

DJ Foreman must have the smallest hands in the world. Can't seem to squeeze it and gets stripped very easily.

Bishop Daniels is a turnover machine.

Despite all this, the game is still winnable.

Freeman's worse half of basketball this year. Tough when Lewis is our most affective inside player. Daniels out of control as usual. Mike lost his shot again, way off today.

All things considered, to only be down 5 at the half isn't bad. Williams needs to find his shot and Sanders needs to break down the defense. Too many poor shots and chucks from beyond the arc. And maybe convert on the charity stripe. That would be nice.
