RU Wrestlers practice at Homecoming game Saturday against Kansas

For the first time our RU Wrestling Team will have an outdoor practice this Saturday from 10:15 to 11:30 at the Athletes Glen across from the stadium entrance. As most of you know I have the privilege and pleasure of watching these kids practice since I am old during the season and this gives all of you fans a chance to watch them go at it since you are going to the game anyway. See All American Anthony Ashnault and Anthony Perrotti in action as well as our up and coming young stars. Our kids are working hard to prepare for the season and let's show them our support by packing the practice with people. See you there!

WNG, what's the overall health of the team? Is everyone live wrestling? Is Gentile going hard or still nursing the injury?

Any update on Camp, specifically is his weight down?

The boys are all going hard. You will see Gentile scrapping on Saturday. He will probably redshirt since we have Richie Lewis at 157. That will give Gentile a chance to acclimate to college wrestling. Campy will be at 197.

Hope everyone had a chance to see practice. It was awesome. Gentile worked with AA and they went at it. Gentile has been great both academically and wrestling-wise. He is heathy and probably can make 149. Theo will redshirt. Gentile is coming off surgery on that shoulder so it depends on what the coaches want. Campy is around 212 so that is much better than he has been. Perrotti and Bakukas really went at it.

I thought Camp looked kind of thick yesterday so hearing he's at 212 isn't bad at all. Let's hope he can hold the weight once he gets down there. I'm still skeptical, but really rooting for the kid to get one last shot.

Wow didn't even know Scott D was trying to make 125. That would be incredible for the team if he can make it.

I have no inside info but I think Van Brill will contend at 157. Wouldn't be surprised to see a real close match with Lewis.
