Russo to announce on Monday

Whoa. I can only imagine the meltdown on the Monmouth board come Monday afternoon. :)

Russo has to be a lock for RU. It would be insane for him to choose any of the other offers. UConn? Temple? No way.

How low our expectations have become....boasting that we are beating out Temple & UCONN for Recruits.

What kid has to announce RU over Temple/UCONN?

Christ!

Don't forget that offer from Bucknell!

Actually, I saw a couple of his games....the kid can play.

Well our last two star QB without many D1 offers (Dodd) turned out to be a fan favorite, so what the hell.......Plan C it is!

Really, some of you guys (NewJerseyGuy, MozRU, mean15 and RU#1Fan) are just aholes. So a kid who has worked hard to get where he is and get a D1 scholarship, and you shit on him because he wants to celebrate that achievement. Losers!

Every kid who comes here is Plan A. To think otherwise is like losing before even playing a down.
If you think the kids are Plan A, then they will play like Plan A.

Love it when people who would only dream of being a QB going to a power 5 school have the balls to crack jokes.

Sorry Coach Veiox -- I didn't realize you are a regular on the Monmouth Football board or that you were the guy who reported that JG was seen sporting Tennessee Orange sneakers the day before he committed to the Vols.

My bad. I Apologize for having a little fun.

Instead please excuse me while I scan the www to see if anybody died today so I can post a cheery obit straight away.

Your post shows a complete lack of insight.

A little more than ten years ago it was Rutgers and Temple for the 'recruiting scraps' of the region (this ignoring the fact that any athlete good enough to play D1 should be celebrated). UCONN was a peer - they even got the BCS autobid one year in the late Big East years.

So the correct statement would be:

How far our program has come in 10 years that petty insults are made when a recruit chooses us over any school (Temple, UCONN, Cuse) save for TTFP, in our region

I want a B1G championship!! I want kids who have the talent to bring it home! Just have my doubts that Plan C will do it! Haskins, JG would have done it. Plan C seems like it will be a very big uphill climb! No offense to any player but we really need to recruit the 4 and 5 star kids to really compete! Anyone who can't see that are just complacent with where this program is and where it's going to stay!

Where this program is, is an American Athletic Conference-level program that just hopped into the big leagues, with AAC-level facilities, and AAC-level revenue, and AAC-level players; I hope the best play for us immediately too but to say that those of us who are looking more 'long term' are complacent to let the program stay in the same place, that discounts our knowledge of the big picture

And Maryland is what? Big time?

Want to be in the big leagues? Act like it. Yes, every big time recruit should want to play here. That's how you compete with the big boys. It's all attitude.

Kid can play. He loves football. He has found a few colleges that will let him come to school for free. Good for him. He says on Monday he will choose one

It'll be great to have a QB who's not a recruiting drama queen on twitter. Even if he never sees the field, he'll have a better career than JG.

If he wants to be here, I welcome him with open arms.

absolutely. When it comes to QB's you never know how a kid will pan out. I welcome any kid that our staff is recruiting that wants to play and compete. I wonder how many of you criticizing have even played a sport let alone had a college recruiting you.

I too want kids who want to be at RU. This kid could turn out to be outstanding. Why do so many have to think they know everything.

Keep kidding yourself. It's well known this kid was option 3.

He reminds me of Big Ben. A little stiff right now, but I'll take a big sturdy, big armed kid, that's wants to be here.Don't sell this kid short.I'm old school who remembers Roman Grabriel, throwing passes with defenders hanging off him, lol. He was always a Giant killer, that's for sure. There is someone out there that will lead this team down the road to glory, hopefully it's Russo. If not, this coaching staff has to find the kids that end up elsewhere and become stars that no one saw coming.

If we can delete this thread it would be appreciated. Understand the sour grapes about Haskins but it doesn't mean you have to put another recruit down concerning his offers or otherwise. Uncool.

It's not a put down of any player it's the overwhelming glee that some folks have with Flood's recruiting. This is all setting up for a disaster for us in the B1G in 2016 and beyond.

Question on Russo, how big is he? Some sites have him at 6'2" others at 6'4" can anyone clarify, please? Thank you

How do you know that the two kids who are going elsewhere would do it? Do you ever go back 3, 4 or 5 years and evaluate how the 4 star players pan out. It seems many don't do that, they get caught up in the ridiculous hype that the recruiting business has generated. Laviano and Rettig were both rated 4 stars by ESPN coming out of HS...why aren't you on board with them?

Paul James was option 4 and it worked out well. If people think we should act big time then write the big checks and buy more season tickets. Otherwise, it's all talk.
