Rutgers has a $65 ticket and tailgate BBQ for the Iowa game for Engineering Alumni. Here is more information--http://www.alumni.rutgers.edu/s/896...13180&ecid=13180&crid=0&calpgid=13&calcid=664
As an Engineering graduate, I don't view it as resorting to deals. The Dean is trying to grease the wheels for fundraising.Totally embarrassing that Rutgers has to resort to deals to fill the stadium for Iowa football's first-ever visit to Rutgers. And what is it that the school would allow tailgaters, only ($15). You don't belong in the tailgate lot if you aren't going to the game. We are talking about a program with the country's longest tenured coach, a program that has had a Heisman Trophy winner and multiple pro football Hall of Famers, a national title, and through the years has had many top-10 teams. Nile Kinnick and Emlen Tunnell must be rolling over in their graves, and Barringer HS's Andre Tippett and Paul Krause must have a laugh over this. Iowa is not Eastern Michigan.

Thanks for the info Knightmoves. I hope to meet him someday.Exactly. Think of it as a marketing expense by the Engg Dept to generate more fundraising dollars for the Engg School.
Any graduate Rutgers engineer who has met current Dean Tom Farris in person is likely to want to write a check to the Engg School. I have met him twice at this gathering and on the second gathering he remembered me by my first name and recalled our previous conversation the previous year. He is a Purdue Grad and is the type of guy who will elevate RU Engg to a new level. I believe that his specialty is Appled Mechanics for aerospace applications. He is a great guy and fun to be around.
He actually had his admin assistant send me a RU Engg ball cap for free to my FL address last year. As a matter of fact I will now write a donation check to the Engg School based on my positive experiences with Dean Farris the past few years. It's a good thing that he didn't know about what kind of student I was at the Engg School during my days at RU. Ha !
