Rutgers Band Director Leaving End Of Season

Timothy G. Smith, Rutgers director of athletic bands, has announced that this is his last season guiding the Marching Scarlet Knights and the Rutgers University Pep Band. Under his baton, he has guided the program to unprecedented growth and exposure. Thank you Tim for your dedication to Rutgers and to all the students that have been part of the program.

Professor Smith is entering his twelfth year as Director of Athletic Bands. A member of the faculty at the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Smith also serves as conductor of the Rutgers Concert Band and directs the outreach efforts for the Music Department. Smith is a graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts where he focused on percussion and music education. He researched and wrote on such topics as, Multicultural Music Education, Music Learning Theory, Inter-judge Reliability In Band Competition, and Two-way Ensemble Communication. He has studied with notable band conductors Jerry Junkin - University of Texas, Allan McMurray- University of Colorado, and Kevin Sedatole - Michigan State University.

I want Snoop dogg as the new band director. Gin and juice would be a good alma mater.
