PISCATAWAY, N.J. (May 16, 2022) – The No. 25 Rutgers baseball team will play its final series of the season on national television in primetime.

The Big Ten announced on Monday afternoon that the Rutgers-Michigan series has been selected as a wildcard appearance for the Big Ten Network and will now be played at the following dates and times:

Thursday, May 19th @ 8:00pm ET

Friday, May 20th @ 8:00pm ET

Saturday, May 21st @ 5:00pm ET

Rutgers sits at 39-12 overall and 16-5 in the Big Ten, tied for first place in the conference with Maryland with three games remaining in the conference slate for each team.

Nice! We bumped Maryland vs Purdue to B1G+ on Thursday. They originally were scheduled to broadcast all three of them on BTN. The Friday and Saturday Maryland games will precede our games on BTN. Huge weekend of baseball! Let's go!

We may need more than some lights and a scoreboard. Let’s get a real stadium NOW before it is too late. Thought Owens doing such a great job would attract attention.

I’ve said this several times about the Rutgers Baseball stadium and upgrades . Until someone steps up with 20 30 million we will have to piece meal the improvements. The actual field is fine and the lights and scoreboard is a good start for 2023. Next Rutgers should put seats ( actual chair back seats ) in left field . Make it the “ beer garden “ so many claim it is already. Then when Rutgers finds those funds do all those things most of D-1 programs have such as concessions , fully functional bathrooms, media and press box with areas for TV and radio broadcasts… oh and a high quality sound system something which has always seemed to elude Rutgers sound engineers . Last a wall similar to the one around Battaglia Field should surround the outside perimeter allowing for a ticket office entrance and access to field level seating behind the plate, dugouts and along left and right field site lines. All it takes is money or a special sugar daddy.

I just don't understand how programs like Hofstra have a nicer baseball complex then a big ten team. It's embarrassing.

Hofstra has great athletic facilities based upon it’s size and level in D-1 sports. I’ve witnessed a number of games in several sports there over the past 10-15 years and also find it hard to fathom. We are finally making progress in the improvement areas. The issue was we had too many sports which required help in our lacking physical facilities and sadly a lack of donations.
