Rutgers Baseball vs Bowling Green

Magic number still at 4 and Maryland in control of its destiny. Need one loss this weekend.
 
Santa Maria hit in the hand by a pitch and had to come out of the game. Hope it's just a bruise
 
Digeorgio with a grand salami, now 17-1. 4th RU homer of the game.
RU added another run for a 10 spot in the 7th. 18-1
 
LiveStats is showing 17-1, with 9 runs scored in the bottom of the 7th and still no outs. Can this be real? That means the entire batting order has had an at-bat during this inning and the inning still isn't over.

It appears rain is a secondary reason for not playing game 2 . More like BGU begged out of the contest . It’s not raining that hard .

Or maybe Rutgers did. It's not helping with post-season positioning to play an overmatched team a third time at this point in the season...
 
No I’ll disagree since in my 72 years both playing and coaching I’ve never heard a hot hitting team say, “ let’s not play we don’t want to mess up our positioning .” I’m trying to understand your thinking here . We play St.Joe’s which will try and beat us as did Seton Hall, Princeton with their best on the mound. Rutgers could rest some starters and use some other players not normally playing much. Next weekend will not be easy. We need no less than 2 of the 3 and hope the Terps lose 1 or better yet 2. Otherwise an unexpected great season for this Rutgers club. What is story with Santa Maria’s injury?
