BB Recruiting Rutgers Basketball lands 2025 sharpshooting Bosnian wing Harun Zrno

not sure what type of NIL these professional guys get. But this seems like a solid pickup even at a likely high price point with his size, 3 point range, poaching a once Indiana commit and he is 21 year old with years playing professionally so minimal adjustment to college game. Let’s go!

@Richie O So I assume Zrno is essentially the wing/shooting guard they were looking for even though I saw him listed as a forward? Are they still looking for one more big for the 13th spot or any position at this point?

Nice, now we are talking, this guy is a grown man, was afraid Kaden powers would be the go to scorer.. now they need a pg and I think that's a respectable team...

Gonna be a long night and week full of complaints from the peanut gallery about the staff and everything else going on with RU basketball......

As much as there's overpriced and overrated talent still in the portal, not only did we get a potential 1 year rental and sharpshooter, if he plays 2 years at RU, consider it a bonus for 2026-27. ....we added 2 21 year old, completely different and with very distinct strengths to the team concept. Fall doesn't need the ball to score or feel important, he can clean up missed shots and defend and rebound.

Zrno comes in as a seasoned player, who plays internationally and isn't going to blink when it comes to knocking down open looks. Add to it, the fact that there's minutes available and ready to fill in, and he will get to play through mistakes and errors, while helping space the floor.

Just waiting for the Gavin Griffiths comparisons here from the peanut gallery.....LMAO......Go RU.....!!!!

I like this, IF, and it's a big IF, we can free him up for shots, because it doesn't appear as if he creates his own shot. Last year, he shot 44% from three. If he can shoot between 38-40%, I'm thrilled.
Spot on comment.Rutgers brought in three outside shooters last season who had disappointing seasons because the half court offense lacked ball/player movement to create open 3 point shots from the corners.

"in 14 games, Zrno shot 50 percent from the field - 56 percent from two-point range and 44 percent from the three-point line - along with a 77 percent mark from the free throw line. He led the team in scoring nine times with a season-high of 29 points on 9-for-10 shooting from the floor (5-for-5 from the three-point line, 6-for-6 from the free throw line)"

Lot of teams are going this route this year. We got a sharpshooter from Estonia too. For some reason I don't think you have to pay them as much.

I would think a big guard who can play defense.

"He is also the first European player in the program since Oskar Palmquist, another sharpshooting wing."

Exciting addition (potentially) and hopefully a real "sharp Shooter" that we haven't had in AGES.

Basically assembled the 2022-23 team, Dollar Store version. Hopefully Pike can coach this group up to something similar to how that team found success.
