Rutgers basketball needs to rebound during crucial homestand; Roy Hinson has some thoughts...

I just watched the last ~14 minutes of the Indiana game and in regards to rebounding, I agree. Before we even talk about motor and desire for the ball, our positioning is terrible.

If the ball is not in front of us on the person we are defending, we have our hands done at our sides instead of extended out and trying to feel what’s around us. Along with perhaps bad team communication, our opponents just sneak in from our blind spot and box us out before we even knew what hit us.

We need to be better prepared to establish positioning before our opponents put up a shot.

FWIW, Rutgers outrebounded Penn St and Columbia by wide margins and was only outrebounded by 1 by Seton Hall over the last three RAC games.

Good article … Hinson was always a favorite and I would love to see him back On the Banks someday..

I played HS ball with Roy at Franklin. He was a guy who literally grew into a force, but he wasn’t always like that. Such an awesome guy.
