Nonsense.Carino is a college basketball reporter who has great insight into local recruiting .Yes,he is a Seton Hall grad but still shows Rutgers respect and wants to see the program improve.
He pokes on purpose for clicks , everybody knows this. Same as Francesa getting on the Mets excessively for years and years ,because he knew the Mets fans would tune in to hear what he said next about their team.

Can’t go but I hope somehow calls him out for his hysterical and loaded language about the “Schiano Cult”, pitchforks, etc. I’m a basketball first guy but Jerry has gone way overboard with his characterization of the fan base and Schiano. The fan base and donors mobilized in a responsible and effective way. There weren’t mobs of yahoos parading around acting the fool and Jerry took that as a the fan base being weak.

Strongly Disagree. Carino is a damn good reporter who provides terrific insight and intel. We all know he loves seton hall but he is fair and objective to Rutgers

Any good insights or recaps from the meeting last night?
Per Brandin Knight, Eugene Omoruyi was unhappy despite being a leading scorer, rebounder, minutes, etc, and expressed the opinion that you can’t go pro, or can’t go to the NBA specifically, from Rutgers. Knight talked about that and how it was inaccurate but also how perception needs to change.

Jerry Carino repeated his assertion that Oregon tampered with Eugene but Pikiell didn’t want to pursue a complaint.

Knight talked a lot about how we don’t have 1 go to guy, and they’re trying to keep everybody happy as they continue to sort our their roles. Understands the frustration with early losses.

Jerry spoke about the craziness of social media and how it impacts kids. There's alot of negative crap that is sent to players on Instagram and the like. He indicated that a couple of our guys do take some of this to heart. He said it could explain Corey Sanders some up and down play because he was fixated on what was being said about him It sounds like some of this stuff can get pretty ugly. Jerry did some say to the CC members that its not directed at us....its instagram from peers and opponents of them. However, I do worry about our team ever reading some of the negative comments on this board. Apparently, there's plenty of negativity already out there.

The last paragraph is a telling commentary about team chemistry, minutes played and the lack of a go to scorer.Keeping players happy is a difficult challenge with playing time reduced and the reality that the team is based on complementary type players rather than having a few players that are far more talented than the rest.
