Rutgers ends Monmouth series, per APP

Actually if Monmouth continues to beat the UCLAs, Notre Dames and Gerogetowns, they are going to have the same problem Princeton used to have with no power 5 teams wanting to schedule them.

it was their 1st win over a B10 team.....so we left them with a lovely parting gift

Monmouth has done a lot in a short time...and it started with a good coach

we should rotate thru several jersey teams each year. good atmosphere and we should be confident to establish our dominance.... being in the B1G shouldn't take us so far away from Jersey. How do establish Jersey Pride in the State U if you don't want to establish your program home first?

actually I don't want the embarrassment of losing to them..we have FDU coming up and there probably will be only about 800 in the building

Until we right the ship, I could care less who we play. When we are a .500 program again then we can worry about the schedule. God knows when that will be

We should stop scheduling ANY NJ teams for a while. The losses the last half a decade have been nothing short of a complete embarrassment.

The way King Rice talked about the game...giving us credit, saying how we made them play bad.....you'd think they dumped us.

Hopefully King Rice is setting up his next job interview. Dude is a good coach. Record wise his first 3 years were similar, though a little better, than Eddie's, if in record only.

The big difference is you can see he is a good recruiter who gets guys to play to his system...and that he actually has a system.

Eddie's fourth year will be another unmitigated disaster, whereas his fourth year he had a winning record.

If Eddie had recruits coming in and you saw the team playing hard and to a system, but was coming up short time and again, you could live with that based on getting more talent.

Unfortunately, we have no system, no recruiting, and no hope.

Cancel them all. Maybe try for some D3 clubs with perennially losing records.

Personally I think they should play 2-3 games a year against instate schools .

The SHU game should be a constant and rotating the Riders , Monmouth , St Peters , NJIT etc at home should be part of the OOC schedule.

lol at the reaction of NJ media and twitter...like how dare they...no one gave two dumps about playing Monmouth before this season so because they have one good year and we aren't playing them next year, I find the outrage to be faux....and perhaps Monmouth wanted the home and home they had the last 4 years...maybe RU didn't want to give up a road game, maybe they are playing Princeton next year. God forbid RU does something the media doesn't like.

schedule NJIT each year. They are the other state 1A school. Maybe offer them a 3 for 1 deal with their 1 home game being the 1st game in their new facility.

Like the idea of RU playing in state schools, don't like it when RU loses to them.

F the media and screw any mid majors, NJ or otherwise, that want to play us home and home. Sorry!

I think we have only played Monmouth 10 times in something like 31 years. What is the big deal that we don't play them next year. They were lucky that Eddie gave them a home and home. We should play them every once in a while but when we do it should be at the RAC unless we make a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 deal. I like the idea of playing SHU every year and perhaps 1 or 2 of Monmouth, Rider, FDU, NJIT, St. Peter's and Princeton every year and if rotated they should be home games.

the media feels like they should control our athletic department...you must play Princeton, you must play Monmouth, you must play Seton Hall for some stupid piece of wood, you must play a game in the Barn, you must raise $100 million for a basketball facility in 2 years, you must fire Julie Hermann, you must fire Mike Rice, you must hire Eddie Jordan, you must not fire Jason Baum, you must play the state championships at the RAC, you must bow down to Bob Hurley.....

But there were over 6.000 in the building which to me is nothing but a positive.

and if Monmouth was .500 like they are most years or switch them out with Rider there would be 3K in the building. Point is no one really cares...especially Rutgers fans. Wadded panties from the media over nothing

Have said this for years. Play them all.

And now that Seton Hall is no longer in the same conference we should continue to play them a home/home and the rest (including Monmouth AND Princeton - if they want to play us) always at the RAC.
