Rutgers winning this game not only would be one hell of an upset but it would be national news! It would boost Rutgers buzz 100x, top of Empire State Building bathed in scarlet worthy!

Rutgers football generates excitement around campus again

How is THIS:
East Carolina 30-3, UNLV 35-7, Bowling Green 31-6
any better than THIS:
Northwestern 24-7, Temple 36-7, Va. Tech 35-16
???
Or is it more because of recruiting class rankings:
Rutgers 2023-62, 2022-38, 2021-32, 2020-67
Michigan 2023-18, 2022-9, 2021-10, 2020-11

And I am fairly certain that Michigan has not faced a Defense like Rutgers yet.

Look - I’m as optimistic as they come, but even I realize it’s somewhat different.

Michigan went up 30-0 on the first play of Q3 vs East Carolina. With 10 min to go in the 3rd, Michigan was beating UNLV 28-0. They unloaded their bench the entire 4th quarter in these games. Even a back up QB played multiple series. It’s a shame McCarthy had his “sloppy game” last week against Bowling Green because you can bet he will protect the ball against us next week. He throws 2 first half picks (one gifted BG a FG), and Michigan still breaks out a 15 point lead with 13 min to go in Q3 and put the game away for good a few minutes later.

Like a lot of fans, I did not actually see any of the Michigan games. I may be wrong but I've always thought that a good number of people draw conclusions based on final scores...especially poll voters around the country. I thought that was one of the big reasons some coaches like to tack on scores at the back end of games....to make their win look more impressive than it actually was.
My point was more that East Carolina, UNLV, and Bowling Green was not any more a murderer's row than Northwestern, Temple, and Va. Tech.
