After an online contest, on February 6, 2013 the Hasbro Toy Company announced a shake-up for its Monopoly Game that was first issued in 1934 by Parker Brothers and has its roots back to the start of the 20th century. The iron token would be dropped in favor of a cat token beating out the other choices of a robot, helicopter, diamond ring and acoustic guitar. In 1992, Monopoly ran a limited edition of the game for different universities including Rutgersopoly. Tokens were replaced with miniature books with different titles and colors and the board spaces that cited places in Atlantic City were replaced with Rutgers places including Rutgers Stadium (replacing the red Illinois Avenue space). One Contingency card (formerly a Community Chest card) read: “Rutgers vs. Penn State! Advance to Rutgers Stadium. Go Rutgers!”
