There have been 7 Rutgers head coaches in football who were over the age of 40 at the date of their first Rutgers varsity game. Can you name them and can you name them oldest to youngest?

Acting head coaches do not count.

I would have thought that nearly all of them would have been at least 40. Schiano is the only exception that I can think of as he was in his 30s when he was hired. Anderson, Graber, Shea, Burns, Flood were all over 40 at their starts. Those are all of the coaches who have been here since I started Rutgers in the early 80s. I would be hard pressed to name 3 more coaches.

It's a start, anyway.

I had to put down the bottle of vodka and recount. There have been 7 - not 8 as originally asked - that was 40+ at their first Rutgers game.

Starting w post Sandford:

Bateman
Tsker
Shea
Burns
Graber
Flood

Cant think if anyone else? Wilson?

I'll leave the question up until Monday before providing the answer.
Bonus question:

Two men were the youngest head coaches at the highest level of college football when they took their jobs at Rutgers. Greg Schiano was one. Who was the other?

I'm guessing John Wallace.
