The Z10 features a titanium face guard and weighs slightly more than three pounds, while most helmets weigh 4-5 pounds.

Notice he didn't say it actually protects better...it doesn't. That being said, I could see the weight differential meaning something at the highest levels.

That is a very big weight difference, assuming protection is the same. The whole team should wear them.
