Exactly.Unless the ushers are going to enforcing seat assignments, the upper corners will always be empty

One of the reasons I liked having Knight Kushions. Two of my guests had tickets in the upper corner but sat with us at the 40 yard line.
The student section was over-packed: students stood 3-4 rows deep on top of the concourse all around the endzone, and also stood in the stair aisles. That 10,000 endzone probably had 13,000 in it last night. The upper decks were 2/3 full so 3500 of 5000 each. Doing the math that brings the crowd to around 52,000
If Nova completes that 3rd Down pass to a wide open TE Kroft that Robinson play never happens. The best was the Penn State game in 2014. That was a solid 55k at that game and Rutgers was in control until Allen Robinson caught a pass and went like 70 yards and RU lost late. That was the best atmosphere I have seen except Louisville 06
From ScarletKnights.comI don't think Rutgers ever announces the actual attendance, do they? Couldn't find it with a quick search but that's my recollection.
Thanks. I saw that figure and thought it was the capacity, not actual. From ScarletKnights.com
RUTGERS 21 (4-0, 1-0), WASHINGTON 18 (3-2, 1-1)
SHI STADIUM • PISCATAWAY, N.J.
SEPTEMBER 27, 2024 • ATTENDANCE: 54,079
Pretty sure that's not tickets scanned either so it all depends on your definition of "actual attendance".Thanks. I saw that figure and thought it was the capacity, not actual.
Does anyone know why the Brown Recruiting Lounge cannot be used during games (for recruits & their families, obviously)?
Any idea why we don't do this? I'm familiar with the in-game hosting rule, but would that also be some NCAA violation? Logistics of using it for recruits pregame, but then clearing out for a corporate party like you say?it cannot. They can be in there before the game but not during, some NCAA regulation.
During the Ash era, letter winners were not allowed on the sidelines. They were all moved to the Lounge for game watching . Schiano is back and the letter winners are on the sidelines again, so the lounge stays empty during the game. It would make a great place for a corporate watch party
Probably because as @MrsScrew said, the recruits can be in there up there beforehand, might be tough to get one group out and one in.Any idea why we don't do this? Sounds like an ideal opportunity for NIL - let recruits rub elbows with bigwig donors.
Thats what I'm asking - if theres not some NCAA regulation forbidding recruits mingling with fans in a corporate box (which there probably is), it sounds like a huge missed opportunity.Probably because as @MrsScrew said, the recruits can be in there up there beforehand, might be tough to get one group out and one in.

Good point.it's not just recruits. it's their families &/or their coaches. Could be 100 people in there as "recruits" I think the logistics of getting them out & turning the room over for a corporate party might be too much.
I hesitate to bring it up, but you know what that area would be perfect for? 😀Good point.
Maybe what Rutgers could do is “upgrade” some regular students to that deck just before the game, or even during the game. It would be another prize like giving away TVs.
If you are thinking of the nefarious and inappropriate activities that I think you are thinking of, the answer is no. You dirty bird... 😄I hesitate to bring it up, but you know what that area would be perfect for? 😀
I was thinking of using it as a study area, so students could find a quiet place to study during timeouts. If you are thinking of the nefarious and inappropriate activities that I think you are thinking of, the answer is no. You dirty bird... 😄
Capacity is officially 52424.Thanks. I saw that figure and thought it was the capacity, not actual.
That’s what I thought. I was in an emergency preparedness meeting talking about game day and I quoted that number. Felt like an ass later in the week when I saw all the other numbers floating around.Capacity is officially 52424.
I used to get tickets from Schiano and Flood- and they were either in the 105/106 area or the endzone- and My good buddy @RutgersRaRa would always let us squeeze in with him on home side lower level. There is a reason why certain sections like the worst seats in the house and during rain, that will not look full. There are a lot of people who get cheap tickets in the upper deck and sit in the lower deck. I know I do. Student section was absolutely packed too. Had to be more than 50k
It's also easier of course to do this when you have bleacher seating. When I was a young alum I would pretty much always sit in the student section.I used to get tickets from Schiano and Flood- and they were either in the 105/106 area or the endzone- and My good buddy @RutgersRaRa would always let us squeeze in with him on home side lower level. Wouldn't the fireworks scare the sheep?I hesitate to bring it up, but you know what that area would be perfect for? 😀
