Rutgers in on Big Man Baye Fall--5 Star 2023 Player

Fall's comments on Rutgers. Rutgers: “They are in the Big 10; their coach is a good friend of my dad; he is a good guy. They have been really hard on me throughout the process, and they let me know they really like me. I haven’t had a chance to really watch them play much, but they let their big guys play based on the little bit I have seen.”

He likes to dunk, that’s for sure. Lots of similarities to Cliff who would be a good role model for him in terms of body and game development.

These two would be difficult to match up against as a PF/C combo. Exciting to think about.

Says there’s a possibility to reclassify to 2022.

It’s hard to tell since the competition seems low, but he appears to have decent hands and excellent footwork with some solid post moves.

I don’t mean to be doom and gloom but it’s a pipe dream. Some SEC or other school is going to offer his dad a six figure NIL for his son’s services. This is the new normal until the NCAA stops it and I do not think they will stop it. Emerrett knew about recruiting scandals and he has news releases about it but no consequences to teams involved. Two plus years ago Kansas was put on notice and the only outcome was they became the NCAA Championship Team.

He was dismissed from his Denver Prep Academy high school team in February due to violations of team rules... Wonder what that was all about..

“Junior Center Baye Fall has been dismissed from the Denver Prep Academy national elite basketball team for conduct of concern and violations of team rules,” DPA said in a statement provided to The Denver Post.

It probably means he was smoking pot.

No they say he doesn't even want these kids, that he doesn't try for them, only taking under the radar kids for him to coach up.

They ignore all evidence to the contrary.

Actually Pike was the one that made that statement. He is on the record saying he wants under the radar guys with a chip on their shoulder.

It's the wild west out there. Kids are getting bought, straight up. And the NCAA is out to lunch. There is zero enforcement of anything right now.

Nah that’s the excuse that pike loyalists will use when he misses out on the 4 and 5 stars

I'm guessing that Fall will be looking for max NIL money if he attends college... His "handler" Greg Willis pulled both him and 4 star PF teammate Assane Diop out of school at Denver Prep Academy after Fall got kicked off the basketball team, and Willis left his job as director of recruiting and scouting at the school... Fall and Diop lived in the Willis's home... I'd assume that the "handler" will be heavily involved in what Fall and Diop do in the future.

This has Baylor written all over it.

I agree mostly. But is this really new? Seems to me that’s the way it’s always been. The question is, now that it’s legal, when is RU going to respond?

When they find someone willing to pony up the big money for the NIL. Rutgers alumni are cheap.
What if many of them aren't cheap at all, but they just choose to make their charitable donations to charities that they believe have more important or more noble causes than trying to help a college sports team win more games?

This is the systemic issue with most RU fans, waiting on the school to respond when NIL is all alum and fan driven.

Well that's probably true at most schools. I should have said Rutgers alumni who are a fan of their sports teams I guess. My overall point is, the people who are most present at these games and on boards like this, should be contributing and the numbers don't back that up when compared to our alumni totals.

He definitely wants them. This site’s recruiting information shows that Pike regularly offers many of the highly recruited players.

Update from on3. Getting a visit in September

5-star Baye Fall (C)

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 9
Accelerated Schools Aka Family Services Found (CO) | Class of 2023

  1. Which schools are recruiting you the hardest?
Seton Hall, Texas, Arkansas, Oregon, Rutgers, Auburn, Colorado.
  2. What schools would you like to visit?
I’ll be visiting Texas on September 10th. In the same month, I’ll visit Rutgers, and I also want to revisit Arkansas and Seton Hall.
  3. Did you have a dream school growing up?
    Not really.
  4. Which college coach would you say you’ve formed the closest relationship with and why?
Seton Hall because I got a good relationship with Coach Shaheen Holloway.
  5. Is there anybody you’d like to team up with in college or is anyone recruiting you to join them?
I want to play with Assane Diop (cousin) if it’s possible but other than that, a couple of guys have told me that they want to team up with me.

Last time we had a situation like this it was Craig Carter’s godson and he went elsewhere. Believe WVU gave his AAU Coach’s company the security contract for all the football games and it was over what market value was. Under the Sunshine Law it was available to be seen.

Obviously Pike wants top guys. But his comment was in reference to all the guys who weren't top 150 kids that we've signed - basically saying he likes them because blah blah blah. But he has NEVER said he doesn't want top guys. Clearly that would be stupid with Cliff on the roster and recently getting another top 100 guy.
