Thanks Heaven.

Wagner is going to try and sit on the ball probably. If we make some saves and run early, it could get out of hand pretty quickly. They have played some low scoring games though.

Every team is unique.

This team is talented and plays HARD. Enjoy it.

It would be so Rutgers to get ranked and then go out and lose to a Wagner-type outfit. I hope things like that are finally behind this athletic department.
It is OK to harbor these thoughts. Do you need to articulate them here and give the team a personal Kiss of Death?

1-0 RU. Playing sloppy to start. Midweek games.

Watch on a mobile device...much better. Thank God for BTN. So much higher production and quality than some of these other broadcasts.

Alleyne gets the start in goal. Hopefully Edelmann is ok.

9-1 at the half. Would like to see groundballs be a bit better and faceoffs continue to be a worry. But man, this team attacks attacks attacks, and finishes.

We are just too strong for this team at every position for them to keep it close. Hopefully in the second half we get to clear the bench, keep sharing the ball, and keep working on the faceoff spot. It is our biggest concern.

Props to Alleyne in goal. He has coming in and done a nice job.

11-4 towards the end of the 3rd.

Came out flat to start the half, let in a couple of soft ones, and our extra man didn't take advantage. That needs work. D had a nice series.

Love how we move the rock around and can finish quickly. i agree extra man we've got to convert. it's fun to watch this up tempo style of play.

12-5 early 4th. Our faceoffs are becoming a major concern. We are getting killed there. With as prolific as our offense is, it's tragic they don't get the ball more.

About what I expected. Some sloppy, but effective play. Seemed like the boys were a little frustrated with the officiating. These midweek games are different. Kinda reverts back to high school type feeling.

Hats off the D. A few breakdowns, but their individual and team play was solid all game.

Man up, man down and ground balls all need work. With improved ground balls that should help our face off game.
The first half was a lot of fun, the second was messy.

I liked our movement on offense and our even defense seemed to be fine.

This is the best finishing I have seen since Delby Powless was here.

No doubt about that. Our attackmen all finish very well, and our middies can seemingly all shoot. Our shooting this year is light years ahead of last year. Seems like two different teams.

Whatever they did in the offseason, it worked. Even the second line kids came in and were making noise. I bet practices are really competitive.

6-6 second half against a very poor team does not inspire. But given the lack of success in recent years, this result leaves me [banana]

11 different players scored, so it seems like some reserves got some serious PT.

15-7. The game was never in jeopardy.

I watched some of the game again. We have some talent that doesn't see a lot of action that would be playing at a lot of schools. This team is really young. The next few years with this program are going to be interesting, including the rest of this one.

Parity reigns. Unranked Mt. Saint Mary's just beat Georgetown.

After watching Army hang tight with Syracuse, I wouldn't want to handicap any of these games, that's for sure.

Our starting attack combined for 14 points this game. They have to be leading the country as a unit.

Not a lacrosse guy but watched a few minutes of the game. At least compared to Wagner, RU appeared very quick and a couple of their shots were absolute burners. As with hockey those lacrosse goalies must have cat like reactions to even come close to stopping shots.

I found the game interesting. Will definitely try to catch some more in the future.

Goalies now have it tough. Between a combination of the equipment and the kids being so good, shooting has never been better. It is a shame more teams don't play like we do to take advantage of it. These teams who pass the ball around for minutes at a time before trying to actually score are hard to understand. Defenses are certainly more sophisticated, but still. I call it the Princeton effect. They won big that way, but man, it set the game back from an entertainment level. Success breeds imitation, unfortunately in this case. Glad that we do it different.

Good to have you onboard. RU plays the game the way it was meant to be played. Fast and aggressive. Our defense to offense is awesome to watch. The horses in the midfield, goalie play and D make it all happen, and the attack is just lethal. Then when it does get settled down, our offensive middies come in and can all score. It's a handful to defend for the opposition. It's worth price of admission that's for sure. I hope we make the tourney and play a team like Brown. That would be a sick game to watch.

Would you or someone else explain two things to me...

1. Can a team sit on the ball or is there a time limit before you have to take a shot?

2. Out of bounds....who gets the ball if it deflects off the goalie? Also how deep is the back line? 20 yards?

1 You can sit on it for a certain extent until the refs feel you are not attacking the goal and will put a 30 sec shot clock on
2 closest man to the ball where it goes out of bounds
15 yrds from the goal line

1) It's really silly, but it works like this. Once a team has been declared by the referee to be stalling, they put a 30 second shot clock on, which is viewable by the players. But it's arbitrary when the refs put it into effect. You will see them make an L shape with the arms to denote it. A simple shot clock needs to be implemented. Its stupid that it hasn't been.

2) After a shot, the player that is closest to the out of bounds where the ball went out gets it (or the team does). There has to be an out of bounds, but in the original game there wasn't. Guys would run after and fight over the "ball" wherever it was. This is the closest you can get to it. It's just assumed that whoever is closest would have gotten it.

Thank you.

Now I understand why players were hustling so hard when they obviously had no chance to get the ball before it went OB.

Being a goalie in lacrosse has to be the craziest position in all of sports. Very little protection against a hard rubber ball coming in at over 80 MPH(some might break 100) . How in today's safety conscience sports world are these guys are not allowed to wear more pads is beyond belief. I am not saying have them wear hockey goalie equipment, but they should be allowed to wear protection to cover their legs like catchers equipment.
