Yes, this is amazing. I am surprised that SHU didn't make the Final 6. Their fans will not like this one bit.
RU certainly stands out in that pic...
He cut Seton Hall. Heck of a job by Pikiell.
Sometimes being in a different conference now makes me forget how much I hate seton hall. Just went over to their board. Their fans are pathetic.
Their fans have been really ripping us for the last week. They again called us a cupcake on their schedule and ripped our schedule. I know our OOC is weak but our coach had a good reason for this after we finished 7-25 in March 2016 and he wants to get his own players on our roster. They also ripped our recruiting after we got two commits in the last few days. They have claimed that we have been terrible for over the last 20 years and that we will not be a threat to them for at least the next 5 years. One guy even ripped Coach Pikiell by questioning how Mathis could possibly choose RU over Connecticut and Ollie. One guy even stated that Mathis will transfer within 2 years and Pikiell will be coaching at U Conn within 2 years.
Some of their posters are very nice but others just constantly shoot out total hatred for RU. I think some of their posters are getting a little worried about the future.

One poster even asked if there could be could play involved after Mathis committed to us.
Yes, one guy asked if money changed hands. That is really low. They just keep claiming they are going to make the sweet 16 or maybe the elite 8 this coming season. They do have a lot of talent with 4 returning senior starters but the last two seasons they lost in the first round of the NCAA.
Where are all those posters that kept saying Rutgers had no chance with Jalen Carey and ridiculed anyone who brought up his name? I know their names, but, no need to call them out..... They know who they are. lol

Just being in the same montage as these historically immense programs is where it all begins. We may want to skip the crawling stage and go right to walking.
Flnj86 on the SHU site is now claiming that RU paid $$$ to land Mathis. This is one of the lowest statements or accusations I have ever seen on a rivals site. This is really pathetic by that poster.
The similarities between the disbelief and frustration happens from opponent fanbases from time to time, but nothing much to do except keep working and supporting the RU team etc...Carey is a combo guard that can score in bunches and the other schools are assuredly confident as well. I can only say that you cannot improve the roster unless you in the mix for players like this.

we're not chasing them--we are chasing BIG schools in multiple sports--they aren't even worth disliking anymore--we have bigger fish to fry
Yes we are still chasing SHU but you must remember that they have 4 outstanding seniors and several will have started 4 years. They got all 4 under the legal rules of recruiting but to many people they might have been a little unethical. They hired Tiny Morton of Lincoln High School in Brooklyn as an assistant coach which got them Isaiah Whitehead and Desi Rodriguez. Morton only stayed I think one year and returned to Lincoln. They also hired Antigua to get Delgado as he was a coach of Delgado. Antigua left shortly afterwards to become an assistant at South Florida to work with his brother who had become Head Coach. Neither are at South Florida any more.
They do have some very good players but do not have any recruits for 2018 as of this time. It remains to be seen if they can continue to be as good as they are after the 4 senior starters graduate.

Shields, Yes I posted a few days ago after they were ripping our OOC schedule. I just explained why Coach Pikiell was playing 13 home games and the reason for scheduling some not too difficult teams. Last night I posted on the thread "Carey Final 6". Some guys were asking how such a lousy team like RU could make the cut. One guy claimed we paid $$$ to get Mathis to commit. I just stated our coaches have been working extremely hard for the last 16 months and that I felt that statement dealing with $$$ was very low. Many SHU posters seem like great guys but every board has some real idiots. My wife passed away on May 1, 2014 and many SHU posters were extremely nice and even wrote her personal emails. That meant a lot to me and my wife and it still does mean much to me to this very day. I will never forget that. A few still write to me regarding my own health which I really appreciate. However there are a few loose cannons who go a bit overboard. I know we also have some of those. Some might claim we are not rivals but we still are. I don't post too often on their site but at times I think I must defend RU.
I try not to get excited about final 10 and final 6 and what have you, but it is really tough not to be excited by that tweet. I mean, we are the home team. In the middle. C'mon.
Does RU have enough schollies remaining to take both Carey and Dixon?
As for SHU, their fans should still be having Fred Gruninger Appreciation parties. Without Fred, SHU would have spent the past 35 years in the MAAC.

By the way , I think your web page "On The Banks " is outstanding. It's always interesting and insightful for any sports Rutgers fan. I especially enjoy the basketball coverage. Thank you and continued success.
I think SHU paid-off Gruninger for that disastrous decision, he just couldn't have been that stupid....right?
