Maryland misses penalty kick.Rutgers still leads 2-1 second half.

We played really well in the 1st half, but 2nd half was pretty bad -- could not sustain possessions at all, couldn't connect on passes, and Maryland was probably in our end for 35 minutes of the half taking shot after shot after shot. Dalton made several diving saves and was the MVP. We're lucky because MD missed a penalty kick wide right, and the ref actually missed another handball in the box that should have given MD another PK late in the game.

Happy for the win against the worst team in the B1G, but honestly not much progress was made here. But better to play bad and win than play pretty but lose or tie.

Right on. We also missed a great chance late in the game. Our guy couldn't get a shot off.

Maryland is definitely having an unusually off year for them. They lost a bunch of top players to graduation last year so they are now relying on many of their younger players. They do have a lot of individual talent but they seem to be having one of those years where the individual pieces are not quite fitting together, at least not yet.

So the win may not be fully impressive but it was still a win.

I agree Maryland did not seem to be lacking in talent. Certainly gave us all we could handle, especially in the 2nd half.

Didn't WE lose our 3 top players upfront, in the middle and in the back, from last year's side?
