Scarlet Knight Country!
Lot of protest stuff is happening about this. I think the kid who made the video has left the state for fear his days were over.

The players had a rally and the administration backed them up on it and many coaches attended.

The University says they can't boot the kid out because it is his right to free speech, but lawyers are using the Code of Conduct bylaws to challenge that and they will win. It's safe to say the kid better not return to the state or he probably will be harmed physically(I would help).

The team and students are coming together and are going to make the game Saturday a show of solidarity. I'm sure the crowd will be pumped to support the players.

Pretty sure you can find people like this guy anywhere, even in the corn belt. Since when does a single individual become the spokesperson for the school?

Yay, just what we need. I swear sh*t like this only happens to Rutgers. A game they could potentially overlook, will now become a rallying point for the entire campus. Fvckin just great.

I can assure you NU is not over looking anybody. They have said several times that they know they can't afford a lose in before Big 10 tourney or no NCAA's. They have been able to stay very focused even with a week off before the Minnesota game earlier this week.

So some whack-job goes off and the players think about protesting by boycotting the basketball game? Wtf? lmao.

The video in question was of him, a declared white nationalist, at the Charlottesville protests participating in an assault on an anti-racist protester. Still laughing?

I actually see this working in RU's favor...i was originally predicting a 26 point blowout, I think things may be a bit closer at least. Players should be focused on the game are distracted by something else.

worst thing I ever saw...RU security and police handled it wrong..remove the girl sitting in the middle circle...LET THEM PLAY LET THEM PLAY..we shouted, failure by RU to gain control of the situation, it wasnt like all of them came out, it was her and she was there for a long time and then a couple others came out and then all hell broke lose. Today everyone would just run out and it would be immediately over. Back then there was a little more restraint and respect,

There’s only the slimmest of chances our Big Ten road record won’t be 1-33 just after 6 pm tomorrow.
The abysmal B1G road record is a given but it started back prior to the Big East and has continued ever since.Consecutive losing seasons for over a decade and almost three decades without one NCAA bid is the end result of such futility.

And in the most typical Rutgers fashion, we were actually WINNING at the half. Never have I seen a more typical Rutgers moment.

and then the second half was inexplicaby played at the Spectrum two days before the A10 tourney and Camby who didnt play in the first half was inserted into the game and that was all she wrote

Karner. Kobalsovsky. Robin James. Damon Santiago. Jamal Phillips. Team for the ages back in 95. Saw kobolsobsky at the Purdue game. He works in Wall Street area and Santiago I believe works for schools in NYC think the bronx

Yeah and correct me if I'm wrong but how about for UMass PG Derreck Kellogg, SG Dontae Bright, SF Dana Dingle, PF Lou Roe, C Marcus Camby. Or was this post-Kellogg with PG Edgar Padilla? Either way, wow, UMass was SOLID in the early to mid 90s... Coach Cal had 'em rolling.

Jarvis and GDub were good too with Yinka and Co. And Temple with Brunson, Jones and McKie. Rhody and Joe's solid too. A-10 was loaded back in the day!!!!!!!

I remember the U Mass game like it was yesterday. That was really upsetting. I still have the fiasco on VHS. I also went by bus to the game completion at the Spectrum. There were only 500 in attendance and it was a complete joke that Camby was allowed to play. The Atlantic 10 I think blew that big time.

I like the response of the players. Would be even better if RU wore the same t-shirts in support.

Thought this comment was telling. "He also said on a video that America's founding fathers didn't care about opinions from Mexicans or African-Americans." Sadly, he appears to be getting his talking points from the POTUS, who calls Mexcans rapists and said an American judge of Mexican descent couldn't be trusted to be fair, as well as more recently referring to Africans and Haitians as being from "shithole countries."

This is happening almost every week. POTUS' flirtations with white supremacists has opened a Pandora's Box of ethnic hatreds that had been contained for many years. Now all of these crazed individuals are coming out of the woodwork.

I was there - this was exactly right. Protester sat there by herself for ages - when others saw it was “safe”, they ran on to the court. We had momentum and a shot to bump them off. The second half was played in front of no one and we lost. Another watershed moment in Rutgers sports that put us back decades.

I hate when “genetic, hereditary background” gets in the way of a basketball game played mostly by kids from a “genetic, hereditary background”.
Well said. Reminds me of the Russell Crowe character in Gladiator asking the audience, "Are you not entertained?"

I was at the game in ‘73(?) against Pitt (another ?) when students took the court either preventing game from being played or preventing 2nd half.
