Rutgers New Business School Facility is voted 19th most beautiful!

The architectural pros may like it, but I hate it - I think (except maybe for the Engineering and Physics Buildings, it is the ugliest building on any campus.

Really? I think that is pretty harsh. I really like the building. Also, if you go inside of the building it is even nicer. It has an impressive looking like 15 step entrance stairway and each stair is like 20 feet wide and it brings you up to a lobby with a bunch of elevators and students are studying all over the place. Very cool atmosphere.

I didn't like it at first but it has steadily grown on me. Now I find myself staring at it with some fascination about and appreciation for the design. It's no cookie cutter.

How could you guys possibly not like it? It looks beautiful from the outside and even better on the inside.

it looks wierd with random poles sticking up at odd angles. looks like crap like most modern architecture.

Every week I have to use a different classroom or can't get onto a certain floor because they are doing "revisions". I have a complaint that for a brand new building NOBODY seemed to solve for AC power access in many of the classrooms. We stretch our our own extension cords and balance PCs and Tablets onto too small surfaces and balance them as we try to enter notes and data. The rooms are from the 1960s.

I think it is one of the ugliest modern academic buildings that I have seen. The polls holding up the walkway are just hideous.

Nice, Penn state's is number 7 :)
Not only don't I think it should not be #7, but it's hard to understand why the top 50! Yes it is big, really big, but that's about all you can say about the architecture. Boring...
And, while I'm on it Pepperdine really? I have been to the school, and it is awesome, great campus. But, to put that building up there, and leaving more established, pronounced schools like Cambridge towards the bottom of the list, is a travesty. But, that's just my humble opinion.
BTW our new Business School building is awesome!

Seriously, some of you will complain about, bitch about, and criticize ANYTHING. Christ, we have a world class building that is architecturally significant. Get over yourselves.

Saw it on the bus tour of campus at our 50th Reunion in April. The overwhelming consensus of the old timers was very positive. Building has the Wow factor and holds up on closer inspection. There was more criticism of the more traditional Honors College building under construction.

I'm surprised no one has said anything about the fact that we're 30 spots ahead of Syracuse! Haha.

There are only two B1G schools ahead of us, Wisconsin and ttfp. Not the first time we've beaten Michigan at something!

I've seen both the Michigan and Wisconsin B school building and actually liked the Michigan building better. The busy street setting of the Madison structure is a little off putting. If it were in a nicer location perhaps it would look better.

Nah, PSU's building is the bee's knees.

It's actually a really nice building. It looks great inside with the huge glass facade. Now whether it's the 7th best or not I don't know, but it deserves its spot on there somewhere probably.

It's a gorgeous building. But this is New Jersey and it just can't be here. New Jerseyans are stuck in architectural temporal limbo while the world moves forward. Every building has to be rectangular, symmetrical, covered in brick and made to look old even though it was built five minutes ago.

I love our B-school building - it's very cool looking. I think RU has done a superb job turning the Livingston Campus from a dump to a very attractive collection of buildings, spaces, and walkways that mesh together quite well. I've spoken to several students who now say that people want to live on Livingston - that was rarely the case before the expansion of the campus, which has not just focused on academic buildings, but has also done a nice job with the student center, cafeteria, and the new businesses/restaurants and even a movie theater.

The new building blows. It is out of place and will look outdated in about 10 years This will be Beck Hall 2.0.

I love the business school building. When I go to the RAC I drive around the circle by the building just to get a closer look at it before heading to the RAC.

One Washington Park in Newark is also pretty awesome in my opinion and has the further advantage of close proximity to Wall Street.

Now...I think business degrees in general are a worthless abomination, but as long as they are in demand I'm glad Rutgers is competitive.

Not sure about how many Rutgers students in Camden, but I would guess about 1,000 which is supposed to increase soon under the master plan.

To each their own, I personally love the building. It was being built for 3 years while I was working the MBA, and then got to have one class there during my last year (and two in 1 Washington Park).

It's very modern looking structure up close, nicely open with the large amount of glass, and I don't think people realize how much of the building is 'floating' on the diagonal columns. The biggest problem on Livingston are the remaining shitty outdated buildings (disgusting Beck Hall, the Towers, and to a certain extent Quads)..
