Rutgers now has 4 teams Ranked!

And let's not forget that he cut 6 Olympic sports.

He should have cut more. We sponsor waaaaay to many sports. The smart, prudent move is to sponsor only the number sports that you can fund fully at out of state levels, complete with all coaching positions and support, along with recruiting budgets similar to our peers and facilities.

Everything else is a recipe for failure and losing.

I don't even know where you would get that idea. Julie was a big supporter of Rutgers Wrestling (and why shouldn't she be, it is the only olympic sport turning into a revenue sport).

The term "revenue" sport is so misleading. If men's track and field charged $1 for tickets then it is a "revenue" sport. A more proper term should be "revenue-neutral" and it's very difficult to get any sport to be revenue-neutral besides men's basketball and football. If you go to this link ( sorry - I don't know how to embed and it's pdf) http://publicaccess.psu.edu/docs/2014_NCAA.pdf and go to pages 50 & 51, PSU wrestling loses money (revenue $1.6M, expense $1.8M) and those revenues include $255K in direct contributions (pg 8) and $733K! in endowment/investment income (pg 18). This is a very successful program with large attendances and they still lost close to $200K.

Mulcahy hired Goodale, Pernetti hired Donigan and O'Neill as an assistant. Julie elevated O'Neill to HC.
Mulcahys best hire was Coach Crooks of the woman's soccer team.Crooks named O'Neil his assistant..Crooks retired just prior to the beginning of the initial BIG season, forcing julie to hire O'Neil from within..He was an obvious choice.
