Going by records and early RPI, UCLA is very good. Fresno, Nevada (2 games), and Cal St - Northridge are good. San Diego (3 games) and Cal Baptist are not great .

As far as impact of new schools Washington is currently #4, UCLA #19 and Oregon #25. All 3 are perennial regional qualifiers and often compete in final 4. There are currently no Big 10 teams in top 25. Their addition definitely raises the level of softball play for the conference.
