Rutgers to be featured on Real Sports regarding football arms race

SSeemed that the story is most schools lose money in sports.
Facts seem to prove it.
Faculty and students said it should be self supporting which makes sense.
They must have chose RU as the P5 representative for the story because after 30 years still no results or being self sufficient.
Why the angst when the facts are there to review. Is it showing the warts
Oh well

Why do schools in Big Time conferences have to have self sufficient sports while other schools do not?
It's a luxury (that we are blessed to be heading towards) to have self sufficient athletics. Why does the press feel the need to keep kicking the schools that don't.

We would be "self supporting" tomorrow if we cut every program that is not Football and Men's Basketball.

The faculty union types that harp on this never face up to this fact. They, and most of the press, only look at the sticker shock of the expenses from FB, neglecting to look at the revenue.

College football is like herpes; once you've got it, you're stuck with it forever.

The Rutgers football team has been "self sufficient" for the last two seasons. Last year the football team was 8 million in the black.

The other sports cost what they cost. Either you have them or you have nothing (thanks, Title IX). The media's argument that football is somehow soaking the taxpayers is a complete and utter strawman.

Not to mention the piece last night was completely one sided. No mention of how the B1G entry has helped academics or how much money we will be making at full rate. It was a hit piece for no reason about 5 to 10 years too late.

Harbaugh put 'em up to it. He's getting crushed by Ash in New Jersey and made a call to an alum. It all makes perfect sense, now.
