Rutgers vs Boston U / Game Thread

Listened to the game while out shopping deals....if the rest of the team scores their averages (Thiam, Kiss, RHJ) this isn’t close...but for a young team to power through like this is good. Sounds like there were a lot of no calls from the refs on some hard contact....anyone who was there or watched care to offer their opinion?

I think writing Kiss or anyone else off this early is a mistake, by the way...

Take the win and be happy. I still don’t know why people think we can win 18-19 games, but whatever. We’ll probably lose the next three. I really really want to beat SHU and not slip up with any of the non conference games

Agree..this team unfortunately has a ceiling on wins this year...too young and too many pieces missing this year to much above or even 500

Kiss seems like a guy that will have his moments but also completely disappear in some games too. Was expectIng him to be a bit more consistent.

He’s not the volume shooter that I expected he would be (and was at Quinnipiac) but he’s not a very good shooter, so I suppose that’s good.

Being outhustled by a bad team..that is disappointing. ..terrible shot selection across the board. But this game shows how limited the offensive options are..good luck in big ten play
What concerns me in the last two games is the lack of scoring from the bench players.Baker and Eugene seemed to be the only players capable of creating and making shots off the dribble and Baker was stymied in the second half except for foul shots.Fans were excited after the first two games of the season when the team scored 90 plus points. In the last 3 games Rutgers had a difficult time scoring 60 points which clearly won't be enough against Miami,Michigan State and Wisconsin in the next 3 games .Harper,Mathis and Kiss need to step up right now and put points on the score board.

Kiss looks like he's playing scared to fail which I wasn't expecting based on what Pike and the media reports were saying. He looks a little like Mike Williams on his drives, in a hurry without a plan yet.

agree...all 3 of those guys need to step up their game, trial by fire...I need to see more from Kiss because he has been quite disappointing lately and he came here highly hyped from those close to the program

First three words are very important.

Well, remember, it only took a small sample size to see that neither Souf nor Justin Goode was a D-1 guard. A kid like Kiss who’s been in the program for a redshirt year should look a helluva lot more comfortable out there. He’s not keeping up with the other 4 guys who Pikiell has on the floor. Right now, he’s looking like Justin Sofman.

Kiss had some swag early and the shot looked great. He's not playing with confidence and either can't or won't take it to the basket after struggling in that area early. He has passed up open shots and lanes to the hoop. I thought with that vertical he would be more of a threat to take it strong to the rim.

Harper's shot is soooo flat. He's aiming it too much.

After seeing Geo and EO putting up big numbers and the rest of the shooters really struggling, you have to think Miami will be keying on those two and forcing the rest of the team to make shots. Maybe this leads to some nice open looks and gets our 3 ball back on track
