Haven't seen this discussed yet but RU will now give in state scholarship students $4,200 and out of state scholarship students $4,800 a year for spending money. That's roughly a bit more than $100 each week that football players are on campus. That's a good amount of pocket money for a college student. How much are other BiG athletes are getting?

Here is what people estimated schools would be giving. I know Penn State confirmed the $4,788. I not sure if other school have confirmed the amounts.
Penn State $4,788
Wisconsin $4,265
Nebraska $3,544
Indiana $3,026
Maryland $3,024
Illinois $2,500
Ohio State $2,454
Northwestern $2,326
Minnesota $2,194
Iowa $2,128
Michigan $2,054
Purdue $1,920
Michigan State $1,872

Something that is never discussed is that based on our financial need, many players were already getting Pell grants to subsidize their daily expenses. The Pell grants vary, but are very similar already to the numbers above. If players do get the stipend (which is okay by me) I don't think they should continue to get the Pell grants on top of that.
