Rutgers Women's Basketball at Pittsburgh

No Sayawni yet, surprisingly.

Still subbing too much. Liz drills a three and then is on the bench. Sadibe scores in the paint and is immediately subbed out.
This is a problem. Like when Johnny Football threw a great pass and was immediately sent to the bench. Hmmmm. I see a trend.

Tim played to their strength by going small during the stretch that Pitt took over the game. Using Destiny with Osh and then goes 4 guards with Osh. They just pounded us inside with their 6'4" and scrappy other players beating us to the ball. We dictated the game when we kept a big in the game with Osh and also kept our best players in the game.

Why does Tim not see that Lasha needs to play most of the game. I hope he sees that Jailyn needs to play on the wing only. I agree with scarlettb he should be using Sayawni as the second pg behind Shug and/or splitting minutes with Jailyn and Lasha on the wing when Shug is in at pg. Out of Sanderlin, Liz, and Victoria to relieve the core perimeter players, you go with the hot hand.

Chyna could have helped in this game. To me, she looks like their strongest inside player with size. I see, she sometimes has bad hands in traffic, but she does so much more positive than negative when in the game.

Holy Crap!!! He can't see that it was his substitution pattern that gave Pitt the edge inside with rebounding?? Here he goes throwing the team under the bus again.

He should have seen his mistake from the Arizona game, putting Destiny in, just to get immediately scored on twice by a bigger Cate Reese in the post. Having Osh try to handle much bigger posts without the help of a true post-sized player like Sakima, Chyna, or Tyia in the game.

It doesn't take this long to find out who should get what minutes. He said he's still figuring that out. A basketball mind should be able to figure that out in a week (especially when you have years of collegiate game footage on all of your transfers).

I feel badly for the ladies on the team as this poor coaching is killing their chances of winning
I agree and we have to sit through this for the rest of the year they are only going to win 2-3 more games the rest of the year and on to the new coach with a complete house cleaning and I don't want any coach with ties to CVS we need and complete new fresh start

This guy is delusional! He set these girls up for failure last night. This is not the most talented team we have seen but Tim did not put them in a place to succeed. Can't sugar coat this any longer. This regime needs to be put out to pasture.
Not until the 2025 season…this year and 4 more years of CVS (unless Hobbs extends her through the end of the 2020s)…it is an impressive evisceration of a once great program! Remarkable, really.

I thought the contract stated that at any time they can move CVS to an off court administrative role with same salary. And it looks like CVS already made that decision.

After calming down from the frustrations of last night's results, I feel the need to talk about some of the positive that we saw. Something to keep hope alive. There were a few really good things that showed improvement.

First off, the shooting looked so much better. If we don't turn it over so much and at least get a good shot every time down, that's easily an additional 10-15 points for us. Shug looks like she is getting a little more comfortable with each quarter. She just has to be careful not to get too infatuated with the dribble in the half court. The ball started to stick with her instead of continuing to move. Jailyn looks better on offense now that she doesn't have to run the point. She's able to focus in on getting to her spots. Analyst K.Thomas-Cutty also noted that during the broadcast.

They evidently put in time working on shooting. I just hope they continue to do so. They still have a lot of work to do in that category. Lasha needs that midrange practice so she doesn't have to shoot in traffic so much. Osh too.

Second thing that was so refreshing to see was good ball movement for easy and open shots in the halfcourt offense. Unfortunately, they would do so for a play or two and then act like they forgot what they just successfully did, going right back to pass......hold it look, look, look (while every one else is standing still with a defender next to them)..............try to pass again........repeat........turn it over.......or chuck it up. Oh! I forgot, this is supposed to be the positives.

If they study the tape of this game, the staff can easily point out the difference in doing it right and doing it the ineffective way they have been for most of the start of this season. They should grow a lot offensively from studying this game. When they moved the ball, they moved the defense and it eventually created defensive breakdowns that gave them easy shots. I pray that they see that from this tape.

If Tim can keep them loose and non-hesitant to take the open shots on the perimeter, it looks like they can be effective knocking down shots. Just need it to be a greater emphasis in practice. He also has to have the right people on the perimeter to take them. Put Osh on the foul line to baseline rotation on offense against the zone.....Not the wing.

Lastly, a shout out to last off the bench but certainly not least, Kierra Sanderlin. playing like she's been there and clearly belongs. Small sample size, but she has exhibited skills that should move her way up on the depth chart at the guard spot. Seems strong with the ball, and solid defensively. Just looks like she knows how to play the right way.

If Tim can get it together with the rotation, we can win some games in the Big.

Definitely were positives in the Pitt game. The rotation got shorter, and there was consistent scoring throughout the game. Also, turnovers were reduced.

I wonder if a lot of practice time in the early season has been devoted to learning the defencive schemes and the importance of defence. As the players learn, more time will be devoted to shooting drills.
